Reviews
"This time of year it's not crowded and dogs can be off leash. Love it!"
"Beautiful park with lots of greenery. Two volleyballs courts. Large areas for some outdoor swimming. Remember your sunblock people!"
"This is a nice park (Sandy Point). Lots of trees for shade, the sand is pretty nice and the kids can dig in it. Paddleboarding was fun and the water was super calm. We were able to string a hammock up between a couple trees. I found out later that hammocks apparently aren't allowed, but a park employee came by and didn't mention it, so I'm not sure how strictly that's enforced. It wasn't very busy when we were there, so maybe it's worse when it's busier. There are a good amount of picnic tables and BBQ platform things scattered about in the grassy area. There are a few fountain-type features the kids liked playing in. There's a snow shack and a paddleboard rental place, but we didn't try those out so can't comment on them. The kids loved it and we'll be back. Things to keep in mind: 1) There are geese here. Watch where you step! 2) Pets are prohibited from Sandy Point May 1 โ October 1. 3) Glass isn't allowed. 4) There's an entrance fee, unless you have an Idaho State Parks Pass."
"Not worth it. 94 outside made the ride to cool down from Boise to take a look and to feel the water. Well here it goes... the park is more for the geese and seagulls than for us, but there is some watergames in that pond for children to play with. Sand is a little ruff for your feet, sand is combined with little rocks not a great feeling, also u have to do slalom to avoid geese feces. Water is cold but very clear so there's no problems to see feces in the water. Weekend is very busy so the feces will be for all of us who wants to swim. The park should get rid of those geese. Also the pond is right below a huge dam tha is no wider than a two way trafic road at the top, from the bottom up of that dam is probably 300'. If that dam breaks up you can kiss your behind goodbye. The only good things about it is that I did'nt have to pay the parking fee on thursday."
"Beautiful park with several areas to access recreational activities including hosting, swimming, hiking, and picnicking. Itโs a stunning drive with historic points along the way. Facilities are well maintained with easy parking and good signage."
