"Working with Tim & Rex was great, they’re quality people and I hope to be able to work with them on projects in the future! -Christian"
"Rex and Justin were very pleasant and did the best they could to be cordial. They were nice to our inquisitive kids and even dealt the annoying dog next door throughout the installation. The reason for 2 stars is not because of their intent or demeanor it is because of an awful experience with each task installing this pool. We had a budget, but because the pool we wanted (28’) would take 2 months to get in and then 8 weeks to install, we went for the larger 40’ pool Rex said was in stock. Although they list Lyon financial as their chosen lender Lyon had no idea who River pools Boise was and had to set them up as a preferred installer. Because of this, we signed our contract in late April but didn’t actually get started until June 19. Maybe my expectations of contractors is outdated but sometimes several days or even a couple weeks would go by and nobody would show up to do anything or if they did it was for a couple hours. Scheduling next-steps were so poorly executed that each step took several weeks. The first step was excavation: very surprised to see such a small excavator used for a 40’ x 16’ pool but after more than a week of using it they had to bring in a larger excavator. Once it was all dug it took 2 more weeks to schedule a crane to bring the pool in; just to realize after all planning and getting the pool and crane on site that the crane wasn’t big enough. Another 2 weeks go by before the next crane could be brought in. Now a month in and no pool set. During the pool drop it was clear that the guys were having a hard time… multiple lifts and resets and finally dropped. Once filled with some water I get a call that the pool isn’t level and will be given tile to hide it. Another series of delays and failed inspections took us from July 17th all the way to August 31st before the concrete could start. Concrete boom comes and many hands on deck to get the concrete in. Both the river pools team and concrete guys are there. Towards the end of working in the concrete I noticed Rex and the concrete guys trying to hammer in some pressure treated lumber to brace the pool. Apparently something they should’ve done sooner because the pool is caving in. All of the concrete on both sides of the pool had to be jackhammered out… wet concrete chunks all over the yard and in the pool. After another couple weeks of fixing the mess they had to have another concrete boom come back to pour again, this time braced. After the concrete was poured the cover was to be installed. Sadly, more delays and now the end of September the cover is installed. Because there had been no cover and much dirt work there was 1-3” of dirt all through the pool. They hired a cleaning company to come clean. The pool cleaners were pretty rough individuals and after many trips, all of which were less than an hour each I decided I would start cleaning the pool myself. 3-5 hours a day for 2 weeks the pool started to get a bit cleaner; no help to the pool cleaner guys. Finally I had to ask multiple times to have an auxiliary vacuum used to pump the dirt to the street. Instead of pumping it it the street, the guy had a major leak in his hose and flooded all the landscape work I had just done, turning it into a mud pit. During all of the cleaning I asked the River pool guys to come level the dirt around the pool as “machine grade” is part of the contract. 3 weeks of waiting and them stopping by for 30 minutes here and there I decided to start doing it myself. I’d say we split the grading work about 50/50 as out of frustration I finally got them to come and finish. After everything was finally completed we were lucky enough to have one last weekend of decently warm weather, the last week of October. 6 months after we signed. Typically you’d think a company that blundered this bad would offer some compensation. Nope, just a $24 vacuum head with a 25’ hose that’s 25’ too short to use. They gave me a new filter cartridge just in time for me to winterize. Final inspection was 2 days ago, Oct 27th. Would not recommend."
"Rex and his crew were amazing. We felt so comfortable with Rex immediately. Would recommend Rex and River Pools and Spas Boise to anyone looking to build a beautiful pool and backyard oasis"
"Working with Rex from River Pools has been wonderful! Rex is always professional and pleasant. He is great with working with our technician, Matt, when walking through the job if needed and great at communicating with him and the office to get things scheduled. We appreciate the friendship that has grown from the business relationship that we have created. We enjoy working with you and look forward to supporting River Pools. ~JD, Plumbing Solutions of Idaho"
"My wife and I interviewed multiple pool builders in the Treasure Valley and we were fortunate enough to have met Brandon Sulik with Boise River Pools. Brandon and his team walked us through the process of building our pool. Of the seven contractors that we interviewed, Boise River Pools had earned our business. Brandon is an ultra professional, attentive, and responsive to all of our needs and wants. I highly recommend their company. John & Aimee Barbieri"
