"I can't say enough good stuff about Dr. K! My review is going to be long so I'll start by saying that I am beyond thankful I found her and would recommend her for any primary care needs! Here is my story: After I had my son 6 years ago my health started rapidly declining. There were little things that were starting to go south prior to my pregnancy but nothing crazy. AFTER I had my son, my whole body (and my brain) felt foreign to me and nothing was working right. I felt awful. My legs/hands/feet would swell often. I had no energy. I was gaining weight fast even though I was in great shape prior to this all starting. My body HURT. Joints were swelling, muscles got soft and felt painful. I kept getting sick but not being able to get well again for extended periods of time. Hair was falling out, asthma got worse, periods would be so painful at times that I would throw up & sometimes pass out. I had been going to the same PCP at Via Christi since we moved to Kansas in 2014 and would see her regularly with new complaints/symptoms. She never took me seriously and just wanted to put me on prescription after prescription and would always come back to telling me I needed to lose weight. I insisted that I was trying. I was eating healthy, counting macros, exercising just like I ALWAYS had and nothing was working now. She told me that was "impossible" and that I am obviously not being honest about how much I was eating. I would leave in tears every time feeling hopeless. After going back and forth like this for 5 years, my thyroid finally went crazy and my TSH went through the roof. She put me on the lowest dose of thyroid hormone and called it done. I still felt miserable and nothing really improved. I decided enough was enough and begain looking for another provider. I don't know why it took me so long to do this, but I'm so glad I did. Within a month of seeing Dr. K, she was able to confirm what I had suspected all along. A hormonal imbalance. She also treated me like a person. She believed me and really wanted to help get to the bottom of my symptoms. She adjusted my thyroid dose, started me on a bio-identical progesterone and I feel like my old self again! Almost ALL of my symptoms are gone after 3 weeks on this treatment plan. I'm losing weight, I have energy again! My sleep has improved and the swelling in my legs and feet is gone - so much so that I had to replace shoes! All I can say is that if you are looking for a provider that actually listens to you, cares about your health, definitely giver her a try!"
