About the Business

Boise Depot

Boise Depot is a stunning historic Spanish-style building located at 2603 West Eastover Terrace in Boise, Idaho. Operated by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department, it serves as a public ceremonial and meeting space as well as a popular tourist attraction. The Depot is also home to the beautiful Platt Gardens.

Designed by New York architects, the Boise Depot opened in 1925 with much fanfare in the capital city. The facility can be rented up to 365 days in advance for various events and gatherings. To reserve a space, you can either call (208) 608-7600 or visit the office at 1104 Royal Blvd, Boise, ID during office hours from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Depot is closed on all legal holidays.

One of the main features of the Boise Depot is the Great Hall, a grand 3,542-square-foot multi-story atrium that used to serve as the building's waiting room. The hall can accommodate up to 300 people standing or 165 people seated. The original 1925 Barkalow Brothers Newsstand is also on display, offering a unique touch of history to the space.

The Great Hall's ceiling is adorned with Spanish trusses, each featuring imprints of antique locomotives. Overall, Boise Depot is a must-visit destination for history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone looking to host a special event in a unique and historic setting.

"The view is simply breathtaking. I went with my husband as a finale to our date night and I was very happy. It was perfectly chilly but not cold . The view is fantastic and its a great place to enjoy the love you have for Boise and its people. Will return as I have been since 1998. We did not go into the depot as it was closed . We were there at 830pm on a Saturday but I will have to go inside the depot as well."
