"Closed again??? no cafe last time I was there. Called for a room however the lady who answered wanted a ridiculous price for the night. I have been coming here for 35+ years every other year usually and it's definitely not worth that price!! Sad to watch a place disappear."

"We stopped in after a long night's journey traversing the neverending plains of Kansas and Missouri. It was time for breakfast but not just any breakfast. Us 3 wearey travelers needed a breakfast akin to Elvish Lembas that will "keep a traveler on his feet for a day of long labour, even if he be one of the tall Men of Minas Tirith". And thus we found Prairie Vista Cafe. No this isn't a flashy diner with a chrome outside exterior. No this isn't a diner that has franchise marketing or corporate design. This diner has exactly what you need. Breakfast burritos. Dearest reader, don't shy away from the burrito - this isn't like other burritos. Expertly crafted, this artful organization of savory chorizo, perfectly cooked eggs, melty cheese, and your choice of sausage, eggs, or bacon all tightly wrapped in a filling and surprisingly eatable package. Chipotle, the false gods of the burrito themselves, consistently miss a critical requirement of an authentically crafted burrito - eatability. Do you think you could eat a Chipotle burrito while driving? There's no way - if you said yes, you are lying to yourself. Prairie Vista cafe makes true burritos. Tightly wrapped in a sturdy tortilla with a gentle deli wrap around the base - these energy packed wraps will survive mobile consumption so that you can get on your way and continue your journey with a full stomach. As we near the end of our journey towards the great mountains of Colorado, I can't help but look to the East and think remorseful, longing thoughts about Prairie Vista and their burritos. Almost a nostalgia for the graceful ballet my taste buds danced this morning. But alas, as an Ohioian, my dances are limited. If I'm lucky, my travels might lead me to encounter Prairi Vista 2 maybe 3 more times in my short time on this beautiful planet. Would I have been better off? In the ignorance of my naive perception of what great burrito is before today? No, no I think not. Will every burrito I eat in my remaining years be dwarfed in quality by Prairie Vista. Yes....yes it will. But that's life. And if you're reading this, I explore you to take the leap, Carpe diem, and try the burrito."

"Very friendly staff. I just arrived into the area and they were really responsive of getting me a room for the night. Roadside inns have so much wonderful flare about them. To improve this place even further, curtains need to be added to the blinds and a front door that does not feel like particle board. Great little adjoining cafe for breakfast; sit back and hear the sounds of the local folk. Would stay here again."
