"Best breakfast place in downtown meridian. I have been going here since I was 5 years old. I used to get cinnamon rolls every day as a kid. You can't go wrong with their cinnamon rolls. Plus it has remained affordable. My wife always gets their bargain breakfast which offers a great deal. It can get busy on the weekends so be prepared for that."

"First time here for breakfast. The staff was friendly. The restaurant had an old diner feel about it, which is good. There are alot of pictures depicting the history of the area. The restaurant has a "Community Mug" where you can keep your personal mug for coffee. It raises funds for the Idaho Special Olympics, which is a great concept. The pancakes were flavorful. Our waitress, Madison was very attentive and friendly."

"My husband and I stopped in at 1:00pm for lunch today. We asked if they had fish and chips. We were told yes, but they were out of fries, no biggie to us. 35 minutes went by, still no food. Meanwhile the 4 tables of other parties were served around us. Half finished their food and left. Then the waitress came back around and said the kitchen overcooked our fish and that she sent it back to start with new fish. By 2:00 we finally got our food. During our stay, we weren't checked on once. This is the "fish and chips" and tarter sauce they served us. It was beyond gross. So I walked out and my husband dealt with the check. The waitress did waive the bill. Which we were appreciative but it made us late for other work appointments the rest of the day."

"I have been going to this place since I was 16 years old... maybe younger.....I am almost 50 now. This is not a modern place and can feel outdated. I can tell you that the people, service, and food are not. It makes me happy that I can arrive before open, get a cup of Joe, and be greeted by a stranger with a friendly "morning." It feels so good to still have this in so many ways. The food is not going to blow you away but is definitely good and well portioned. Its wholesome. The environment has always been to take care of the customers as they always make me feel at home while adjusting to my food preferences without question. The Sunrise Cafe are honest people who still have a small town culture. Anytime I travel back to my heritage, they will get my patronage. I truly hope it never changes and I can write this same thing when I'm 100. Establishments like this are a dying breed."

"A breakfast just like Mom used to cook! We came here after an early morning meeting and what a great breakfast. The atmosphere is 'old home' and the staff was very welcoming. I especially liked all of the coffee mugs in the cubby holes for their 'regulars'. I had a great omelet with a side of biscuits & gravy - the gravy was very tasty. My wife had special tortillas with feta cheese. This is a great hometown place to have a comforting meal."
