"I am leaving this review with a heavy heart. I used Jay Kirksey for a case back in 98 when he was a young and upcoming attorney. He was the perfect example of what an attorney should be, he really fought for me and we had a good outcome. I am currently using his firm for a workman’s comp case ( Not Jay personally) I feel like the assigned attorney doesn’t care about my case and I feel like if he would actually look into the things I have told him, it would be a much better outcome. I can never get his assistant to email me back. Even after calling and asking them to please give her a message to check for my emails. I am so Disappointed in the service I have received and even more disheartened that Jay would allow his firm to be ran this way. It’s very sad to say, but I will not go to this firm in the future."

"Initially gave 5 stars but here I am several months later to revisit with a one star rating. Paid 2,500 upfront for Kirksey to have Jesse Ankrom comprise a contract for us to purchase a property/business in Willard. Several botched attempts at the contract later, we still don't have a legitimate contract and the excessive delay on Ankrom's end, with the current rapidly rising interest rates, has caused the sba committee to determine that what the current interest rates will be, comparatively to when we asked for Kirksey help, the payment will exceed likely potential profit. So not only did they not complete the task we paid for, they failed so miserably it cost us to lose what was originally a nearly guaranteed deal. And several weeks now with no returned communication from either party. Extremely disappointed. It's no wonder they require payment upfront. Most people refuse to pay crooks."

"My experience working with Kevin and Kristina was great. I had an issue that was most likely going to be decided in my favor but sought out a lawyer since laws can be tricky, and an unfavorable outcome would have impacted my career. Kevin helped put my mind at ease while waiting for the court date, and Kristina was easy to work with as I sent in evidence. My case was dismissed with prejudice prior to even setting foot in the courtroom, and Kevin gave me great advice on next steps I should or could take. If I'm ever hemmed up legally again they will be my first call."

"Don’t waste your time. They are not proactive at all and when you attempt to push them to do their job you end up doing the work for them at which point they critique your work. I had a simple request to send a demand letter to a mechanic that was holding my mothers vehicle without repair for months, a request to fix the vehicle or return the vehicle. I ended up writing the demand letter for them as it had been a few weeks since this law firm took the project. This firm subsequently took out any and all substantive wording such as “must return by Xxx date” or “subject up to and including law suit” language as this firm was unwilling to put their name on anything. They stated they did not represent me, I could either send the letter I wrote with their changes (which was simply a letter by this point), retain them for thousands more or accept a refund. As this had been going on for weeks I ended up having them just send the letter with no meat to the bone and of course received no response from the mechanic as their were no consequences contained within that letter. I then asked an attorney friend of mine from another state to handle this matter which he did and within one day had the vehicle returned. Go with your gut, trustworthy referrals or folks you know instead of this firm."

"Google PLEASE do something about the Kirksey Law Firm numerous 5 star ratings that clearly do nothing to help advise anyone on the true character of Jay Kirksey, and his business practices. If these people can take the time to leave five star reviews, then they certainly can take a moment of their time to say something about the man; it is misguiding to have five star reviews without context. Most lack substance, and do not provide real assistance. Let me just say, my sentiments seem to parallel that of other comments I found associated with the Kirksey Law Firm. Jay dishonestly misrepresented his legal expertise so I would hire him to handle my discrimination case. He clearly had no idea how to handle federal discrimination cases, or how to advise piecewise as to how the case should progress. I faced termination, and he refused to help, giving me very little guidance in an an incredibly stressful, tumultuous time in my life; it was a time when I truly needed someone standing in my corner. Instead, Kirskey barley acquainted himself with the case, not even acknowledging the many nuances that amounted to what is legally known as pretext, and instead sided with my employer. He minimized the fact that my employer significantly denied me due process, a lack of thorough investigation/review and concurrence, and instead provided me a myopic prospectus. The investigatory process was clearly maligned, and lacking procedurally, but he never bothered to delve into my case and familiarize himself with anything. Not only did he crassly lack legal expertise/competency, but he stayed woefully ignorant and oblivious to my case, which made having him as my representation useless and unjustifiable. He charged me a steep $10,000 to handle a case that he admitted that he was not equipped to handle, alluding most importantly to my termination. He ended up charging me almost $3,000 in expenses on faulty premises. He did NOTHING. Jay didn’t have seemingly any knowledge of the MSPB, or whether I should file my termination as a claim of discrimination either first through MSPB appeal, or with the EEOC. I literally could expect nothing from Jay. He never truly answered questions, he ignored the case, and instead let me do all of the work. He was my attorney and I couldn’t even trust him, which is why we eventually parted ways. I had to explain to him that my termination ran ancillary to my discrimination case, which he had already been paid to handle. Instead, he separated it into an entirely different issue, and tried extorting another retainer from me, and despite having already agreed to handle my discrimination case. For four months, Jay gave me the runaround, and mislead me into believing I had real representation; this was a farce, and I can honestly say that I am disgusted by his business practices. Jay couldn’t have cared less that I was being fired, and instead was focused on either not helping me, or trying to charge me more money. He is not a person of character, or integrity, and I can only advise that hiring this man would be a HUGE waste of not only your time, but your money. I was sickened that Jay saw me being terminated, losing my livelihood, and he was just content with letting it happen. I believe this is partly due to a lack of character, laziness, and no faculties to handle complex cases. If Jay couldn’t see the discrepancies in my termination case, then I seriously question his very rudimentary skills an aptitude as an attorney. Due process violations should have reasonably raised red flags regarding pretext to discrimination. Not following the rules and regulations to fire someone, denying someone the right to be heard or prepare a defense in their favor, while significantly piling on the most adverse of evidence, denying anything resembling something favorable, is lacking in objectivity and fairness. The termination and “investigation” preceding it were marred with controversial due process issues, procedural unfairness, and fatal errors. He was aloof to these substantial nuances of the case."
