"TripAssure strategically avoid payment through several methods: 1. Telling you that further document is needed while the document is already there, thus asking for a 30-day extension. This has happened twice to my claim. 2. Deliberately not reimbursing your cost and test your patience. I am still fighting for my payment."

"I traveled to Haiti and the Dominican Republic last year. I was in Haiti for charitable work and the Dominican Republic for vacation. There was protests in Haiti that cut the work short. Our group had to stay at hotels in CapHaitian while things settled down. We did not get out of Haiti for two days after we were to be in the Dominican Republic. I submitted a claim more to see if the company would honor their contract. After weeks of claims and forms there was no satisfaction."

"We purchased a Kilimanjaro climb with International Mountain Guides. I asked to pay for the trip with my credit card that includes baggage insurance, medical insurance, and trip insurance. International Mountain Guides didn't allow the use of the credit card and required the purchase of $944 of insurance from a third-party insurance company. We purchased the insurance through Trip Assure which is their recommended insurer. On the way to the climb we were robbed, and I was injured with two broken ribs. After six months and twelve phone calls Trip Assure is offering $750 for the $2564 of stolen baggage and hasn't offered anything for the $13597 medical and lost trip. If I had paid for this with my credit card, we would have been fully reimbursed five months ago."

"The worst insurance experience of my life. And I work daily with medical insurance companies. I cancelled my trip over 3 months ago now. Initially I was told it's usually 2-3 weeks but with the natural disasters that had occurred, it would likely be 4-6 weeks, mo problem i totally umderstand... Well 3 months and several phone calls later, still no re-imbursement. I have been told it is being "expedited" for over a month. That process still took 3 weeks to complete the claim. I was called 2 and a half weeks ago and was given the total for what my reimbursement would be. I was then told that the check should come via email in 5-7 days. With Thanksgiving week being part of it, I called back exactly 2 weeks later and I am still being told to give it another 7 days.... REALLY??? If you are in the market for travel insurance, I would seek other companies, no matter how appealing this one looks. They really are very aggravating to deal with."
