"If I could give 0 stars I would. I had my daughter with this office for about a year. In the beginning our experience was good, we had a great NP from that January until right before school started the next school year. She left the practice and they put us with a psychiatrist Dr. Trail, that I was a bit uneasy with and so was my daughter, but I let it slide the 3 times we had to see him. He wasn't good about explaining anything regarding adhd meds, didn't seem to like my questions, and when I was concerned with my daughter having lost 7lbs in 3 months he looked at her chart and said, in front of her, that she was heafty when starting the new meds and could stand to lose the weight. Final straw that had me find a new practice, that is not Mercy, was when due to insurance changing in January of this year my daughter's medicine had to change brand names. I'm no doctor or pharmacist and had no idea what a drastic change that could be nor how harmful it could be to change like we had to. After only a few days it was like she wasn't on anything. I looked over the pharmacy pamplet and it even specified not to change without talking to the doctor. When I called to talk to someone I was hung up on mid sentence so she could transferr my call. They weren't concerned whatsoever with the negative side affects that I explained we were seeing and said to give it another week. I did, things got worse and I started my own research. Called back, I was still treated like I was blowing things out of proportion, but they increased her med to see if it would work. Then we ran into problems with another med she was on, the pharmacy called me to ask me to call doctor office for them to call the pharmacy for clarification on the script. I did and the woman who took my call didn't ask for the patient name or birthday, just asked how the pharmacy had tried to contact them and that it wasn't her job to contact the pharmacy and if they wanted their business then the pharmacy needed to call them. When I finally was able to pick up my daughters prescription the pharmacist even said that the lady she talked to at the doctor office was "very spicy" and argued with her about filling the prescription. I called multiple times to get in touch with the office manager to complain about how I was treated and I was always told she was in a meeting and would call me back. She never did. Staff members at this office shouldn't be working with families of children with mental health struggles. Our lives are hard enough as it is fighting with insurance companies, advocating for our kids at school and just raising these struggling kids. Doctors and staff should be respectful and willing to listen and answer questions and be informative to their patients and families. Dr. Trail and staff were not."
"This office feels like prison. Danielle McElcroy was fantastic and I'm thrilled she is taking a position elsewhere and wish her nothing but the best. We only came here because this practice moved from an office on Olive, which felt like a normal office for people who serve children. This office is TERRIBLE. I have watched countless grownups walk into this bare, generic waiting room with a receptionist who sits behind a solid closed door and expects you to knock for her attention, wondering if they could possibly be in a therapy office for children. No activities, no television, nothing but sitting in this stark room full of chairs. Honestly I don't know how these therapists aren't mortified that their office looks like a place where no one cares about kids."
"They don't care about your child's well-being at all. Pick another provider. Had in tears the way they treated my kids that were in pain."
"My pediatrician is a Mercy doctor and referred us. I went to make our appointment and have been denied care. We were told my son cannot be seen until we produce our previous records. We saw a previous psychiatrist through Psych Care Consultants who are closing their offices May 30, I have attempted to get our records and they haven’t been able to do this. So Mercy will not move forward with making an appointment for us. My son is not a complicated case. He has ADHD and anxiety and hasn’t been on meds since 2020. I want to get him evaluated as he is now. Why are we being denied care? We have insurance. I can’t FORCE his previous doctor to release records if she’s no longer practicing there and the office is incompetent. I simply can’t believe Mercy is gatekeeping us."
"I felt my son's treatment wasn't quite what needed to be worked on. But do to missing an appointment when we were in the midst of moving to Jefferson County and then back a few months later. We missed due to only having one car that his dad needed for work. We were then told we couldn't go to a single child psychiatrist through the entire mercy system. So now my disabled bottom has to rush to find someone else to see my child. That is if there is one near us or in network. Unvisersal Health Care for All is looking good I do apologize for being late or absent I can't remember if it was once or more than once. We all have certain difficulties that we have to put up with everyday. Sometimes those things overwhelm you and your families lives and days get a bit more difficult on top. I'd love to see if you could amend your tardy/absent policy So that if someone has issues that will legitimately make calling in or getting to an appointment on time difficulty. That policy can work with them and not against them."
