"So my daughter is on her THIRD counselor here because their turnover rate is so high. Also when I enrolled my daughter I did so specifically because of their policy that they don’t turn anyone away for inability to pay. I took her for the intake appointment and then due to some unfortunate circumstances I was only allowed 2 supervised visits with my daughter who had been with me almost every day since her birth and her “father” took over the process. Because he’s a different pay scale than me and made himself the responsible party I’d have to pay $90 for the sessions to pay on my weeks. Her dads was finically, and almost any other kind of abusive towards me in the past and now holds the payments over my head in court, trying to force me to reimburse him for visits that I’m unable to pay for to begin with. He’s impossible to coparent with, I’ve tried getting him to remove himself as the responsible party and obviously he won’t. I’ve called so many times trying to get KITM to work with me and not charge him the weeks I take her. Because of their “policy” they can’t split the payment from week to week, there can only be one “responsible party” so I’d have to pay $90 based on his pay scale even though I suffer from PTSD and have essentially lost my home because after working so hard to get my own house I moved into one with meth residue in it. Kids in the middle might be fine if you’re some middle class woman, receiving child support from your middle class ex husband, but they are not a recourse for those truly in need, and they’re certainly not a safe place for those who have been abused by their “co parent”."

"This place is a JOKE! The wait time to get on-going services was horrible. The turnover there is awful, since January 2020 to now they have had 9 employees leave. Within the last 90 days they have lost 3 of their Executive Team Members. The website is a lie, the CEO does not have any clinical experience. The actions of the CEO have been unethical (hiring a therapist and allowing said therapist to see clients while they were not licensed and unable to pass a background check). The working environment and treatment of employees from the CEO is extremely hostile (cursing out employees to where clients can hear in the lobby, door slamming, and belittling employees) all while her employees and therapist are overworked and under paid. The website is fabricated as those are not employees of the agency!"

"I tried working with kids in the middle for my daughter when we were going through custody issues. I met with a counselor for the initial meeting, then she had her meeting. It was made known in BOTH meetings that she did not want to do group therapy and wasn’t comfortable with it. Yet their entire plan came down to her being put into a group therapy setting. Between that and then finding out the therapist she connected with up at left the next week, it was just extremely frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend going there if you want to be heard and want your child listened to."

"Not remotely appropriate for YOUNG children. As far as older children are concerned it maybe “just” OK. Most (and we are talking 95%) of the “Counselers” are students that are working on finishing up their university degrees and are only there for a short amount of time. It was obvious some of them genuinely want to help these children, while others were just “doing their time” to wrap up their educational requirements. For any case of parental alienation this is the worst place you could ever take a child, being that everything is a big secret. Yes, I understand that this method allows children to “open up” with that environment. However, when their is any parental alienation taking place this is worthless mental health care for the children. Fortunately, both the GAL and the judge agreed with me on this. I would also be interested to see what data is gathered and how it is used here. After speaking with other parents at the facility waiting, I found out I was not alone in my thoughts of data collection. One parent said she felt as if her children were just “lab rats” for the students working their way to a degree."

"My 5 year old is so excited to go to KITM. I have been a single mom almost all her life and there have been a lot of changes with her dad so this place gives me hope that I can help her cope with everything she is going through. I communicate via email with them which is way convenient for me. The counselor Josh is super nice and my daughter loves seeing him. Ms. Tia works the front desk and she is a wonderful lady. Anyone I have talked to has been very helpful. The fact that they are there to be an unbiased safe place for kids is fantastic. They really are for the kids. They even do parent counseling whether as a group or just individual. For once I have hope that good things are on the way."
