"Dr. Couch and Dr. Wirz told me my last trip that they could help me with pain management for my bad groin infection that they said needed surgery. My 1st trip there a month ago for E.Coli and my wound, I was prescribed pain control meds. 20 of them. That was a month ago. I go there today and get told to take aspirin or Tylenol for my pain and infection. Drove from dexter to poplar bluff for them to treat an I'll patient this way. I won't b going back and highly recommend any of u to make the drive to Cape girardeau for compassion and proper care."
"We have been trying for over a week to get my mother in for a follow up after she broke her ribs and get lain pills. Dr. Hickey is out of office, no backup dr and they have no clue they just keep transferring you until you give up. COUNTRY MEDICINE AT ITS FINEST! what are people supposed to do"
"Dr Hickey is very content and interested in her patients. She is my family's primary care physician and I've heard many great things about her, her regard for personal beliefs and her genuine friendly demeanor."
"My husband was treated by Dr Wirz, a general surgeon with the St Francis Healthcare network in Poplar Bluff, MO. Dr Wirz is pleasant and seems to know his field, but the time from initial consultation to diagnosis was more than two months. The tests were widely spaced out. Although the doctor promised that his staff would provide the diagnosis via telephone, they declined to do so. My husband has mantle cell lymphoma and is now being treated by the oncology team at NEA Baptist hospital in Jonesboro, AR. The NEA team speedily scheduled and conducted additional tests to stage the disease, make treatment recommendations, and begin treatment. All this was completed in three weeks time, in marked contrast to the Poplar Bluff team. In addition, Dr Wirz's office staff failed to follow up on providing documentation of appointments which cost us over $500 in mileage reimbursement. In the future, all of our health services beyond seeing our home town physician will be provided by NEA Baptist."
