"Got totally blown off by a nurse when I got treated. The registration lady was nice though. As well as my nurse practitioner who said “yeah that’s definitely not a lymph node”"

"Daughter got hurt during softball practice and needed an xray of hand/thumb. Got us right in and X-rays were done within 15 min of being there (we got lucky it was empty in there). Saw Ashley Ray FNP. She was fantastic!"

"I went 2 days ago knowing I most likely had the start of an ear infection. They were packed, only had one doctor available, and I was there nearly 2.5 hours only to see the doctor for maybe 5 mins. The wait and understaffing wouldn’t have bothered me if I would have been treated correctly. He took a very quick look at my ears, said they were perfectly fine, and summed everything up to an upper respiratory infection. Prescribed nothing. My ear only got worse, to the point of bleeding. So I end up at the ER today, the doctor actually takes the time to check my ears and tells me both ears are infected inside and out, the right canal being especially bad. Finally got prescribed drops and antibiotics. Really frustrating to have to miss work, deal with all this trouble, when this just could have been dealt with Monday had I received the proper care. I can see from other reviews I’m not alone in the disappointment."

"This place is a joke. I went in for a kidney infection and the original lady told me to pee in a cup so they could test it. Then some lady that works at the Truman center in springfield told me to sign out against medical advice and go there. She states "you have to sign out against medical advice so we can release you" after telling me that they couldn't test me there because they needed to do blood work. Maybe if she spent less time under the plastic surgery chair her mind would work well enough to assist patients."

"I have already submitted this complaint to Cox directly. But I think it's important for it to be public too. ••• Good afternoon. I am writing to you about an incident that happened today, 12-20-23 at the Cox Clinic in Monett with Valerie Bennett. I went to urgent care to be seen for diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. My five year old daughter, Harper, was also being seen. She was there due to a low grade fever and complaining that her stomach hurt too. The nurse that we got assigned, Sheena, was amazing and took great care of both of us. The same can't be said for Valerie. Upon entering my exam room, Valerie started asking about Harper's symptoms. I gave her the run down and she stated she wanted to collect a urine sample to check for a UTI as her strep swab had come back negative. I agreed to this. She then turned her focus to me. She didn't ask me a single question about why I was there today or how I was feeling. She then snapped at me "what do you need, a work note?" This immediately took me off guard as I too had checked in as a patient. I told her I didn't need a work note at all and began to share my symptoms and the timeline in which they started. I had already provided a stool sample. I asked if the results had come back yet and she stated that 'those results take days to come back'. I was pretty taken aback by her cold demeanor towards a sick patient, but this wasn't the end or the worst of it. Valerie wanted to prescribe me Zofran for my nausea, but couldn't without a pregnancy test. So, as I'm following her out of the room, she stops in the hallway outside of my exam room and asks me if my stomach pain is ACTUALLY pain or just cramping. I told her I was in pain. She then asked me again and told me that "if it's pain, you have to go to the ER. If it's just cramps, you can stay here." This situation made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable as I felt that I was being highly encouraged to downgrade my pain level if I wanted to remain at Urgent Care. She said "I'll ask again. Is it pain or just cramps?" When I told her that I have a high pain tolerance and that it most certainly WAS pain, she took her 4 fingers and jabbed them into my extremely tender-to-the-touch belly and said "that doesn't HURT, that's just cramps". I was blown away by the almost-assult level of force that she used and how she was basically telling me that I was wrong about being in pain. After providing the samples requested, my daughter and I returned to our room. I burst into tears over the entire incident. I have never had such an awful experience with a doctor. She was dismissive, rude, and extremely unprofessional. She attempted to use the fear of sending me to the ER as a tactic for me to falsely convey my pain. I understand how to advocate for myself and I immediately requested a new doctor. I was hysterical when the the registration worker (whose name I cannot remember) came into the room. I told her I would like to request a new doctor and asked her to send my nurse in. Sheena immediately came in and I explained what happened to her as well. She told me she would make the request for me and apologized profusely for the situation. About 5 minutes after Sheena left my room, Valerie came to my door. She said "I'm sorry you felt that I was being rude, but I wasn't. Your daughter has a UTI and I'm all ready to treat it if you want me to." I told her that I would prefer a different doctor for both myself and my daughter. I am capable of advocating for myself in order to receive exceptional care (the kind of care that Melissa, Sheena, the registration gal, and Ashley (the NP)) provided to me. However, my fear is that the next patient Valerie has might not feel comfortable doing so... I went to Urgent Care today because I am sick and needed help healing. But I was met with someone that treated me like I was a nuisance or a drug-seeker instead of a human being. I hope that no one else ever has to explain to their 5 year old why they're crying after being treated in such a deplorable way by someone that's supposed to help them."
