"DONT STAY HERE!!! 1 star is more than this place deserves. We drove 12 hours after our vacation and had a reservation 5 hours prior to our arrival at 11:30pm. We had a sketchy feeling when we got parked and noticed a POS van parked crooked at the end of the lot blaring music with a woman looking up at the windows to the rooms. Tweeker alert. The parking lot should be monitored more closely. Then when we were checked in and went to the elevator it was odd that they had a sign that stated “only 2 guest at a time”. Definitely listen to the sign because the elevator obviously hasn’t been serviced since 2002. The hallway to our room looked like a dungeon and the carpet was pulling up 4+ inches under our suitcases while trying to roll them down the hall. It was like a horror movie walking into the room let alone thinking about sleeping there with our kids. The bathroom had live bugs crawling on the floor. 4 to be exact. The smell was awful as well as the huge crack from one end of the ceiling to the other from water damage. Repaired very poorly. We weren’t expecting an ocean view by no means because we just wanted a place to sleep but the view from the room was by the dumpster area “which is fine” but no need to see the exact bedding from the rooms draped over the fencing all ripped up and looking like a murder scene. Zero Chanel’s on the TV worked and The ac did not work at all and kept saying error. It would kick on when we hit power, making a dying whale noise, then shut off. The room was so hot we were sweating. We were so tired we were going to try and tough it out since we were leaving at 5am anyways but the kids were so disgusted they wouldn’t even take their shoes or pants off to lay on the beds. We couldn’t handle it anymore and so I went to the front desk after 2 hours at 1:30am and shared our concerns and asked for a refund and that we were just going to continue our drive home. The attendant was nice and checked us out right away and showed me “payment of $0.00” on my paperwork. After gathering our belongings I return the room key to him then his demeanor changed and he said “there won’t be a guarantee of a refund but he could get us another room. After already checking us out. I said no but thank you and he gave me the managers card to call the following morning. I’ve tried calling dozens of times and it’s like they have their phone off the hook and I’m guessing they won’t truly refund my money. The photos to the rooms on their website are definitely deceiving. They were taken in he early 2000s and the rates on the sheet hanging in the bathroom shows room rates of $230/night dated back to the early 200s as well and looked it as well. I advise everyone to stay clear of this place. To top it off when we were leaving there were some sketchy vehicles pulling through the parking lot, circled the building slowly then went to the gas station a block away and parked. We couldn’t get out of that place or town fast enough!!!"

"My family and I had a great time during our stay. We stayed in a suite and it was large and spacious. The employee's were extremely helpful and nice. Pool was heated and even had a few activities. Great hotel for the price."

"I was treated well at the hotel. Junior went out of his way to help me as well as every other guest. I wasn't feeling well and Junior tried very hard to find Tylenol for me. I later had to go to the Mercy Hospital ER and Junior continued to check up on me. He made me feel like I was important even though I was a guest. The entire staff was very good. Great breakfast. Definitely will stay here again if in this area of Missouri again!!!"

"This place allowed us to stay in their hotel in Carthage Mo. As other hotels in Joplin would not allow us bc we are local. I do have a few complaints. Employees: never by the desk when needed. Sneaking off smoking pot and drinking alcohol. Myself and my party smelled it strongly! We did ask for towels for the pool area and never received them. This was night shift Employees. Day shift: My husband was told a price for 2 rooms and that's exactly what we had to pay. Unfortunately the lady at the front desk was not understanding and very hateful. We had to come up with an extra $106 just so we could leave. Rooms: they were very comfortable and clean"

"Save your money, the only good thing about the place was the front desk ladies that checked us in. Rooms were disgusting, water damage throughout the whole place, blood stain on our blanket, the room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking room. The bathtub was dirty, the side door coming in from the parking lot didn’t shut properly and could be pulled open with enough force, non of the vending machines were working. Even though it was cheap we still vastly overpaid, do not recommend and will never stay again. Country inn and suites in Nevada or drive to Joplin, don’t waste your money here."
