"DO NOT LIVE HERE. If I could, I would leave 0 out of 5 stars. I've only lived at the Standard for three months and it has been the worst experience I've ever had out of the three years I've lived in West Campus. To start, I signed a lease around May 2023 and requested to move in early. I was told they were offering early move-in but they hadn't determined a date and that the early move charge would be posted to my account at a later time. Come July, I checked my portal and saw there wasn't a charge posted so I called the leasing office. They then told me that they were no longer offering early move-in. I stressed that I was a full-time employee and my job was on the line if I did not move in early. They told me sorry but there wasn't anything they could do. I had to quit my job and was homeless for 2 weeks. Thankfully I had friends who were kind enough to let me stay with them. On move-in day, my roommate who I was supposed to live with told me she was allergic to dogs and that the living situation wasn't going to work out for her. I completely understood and requested to be reassigned units. They told me they wouldn't move me until she provided some form of doctor's note (keep in mind she had lived there for 1 year and they were NOT leased out to 100% capacity) I pleaded with the staff saying that my mom lived 6 hours away and she was only in town for one day and I would appreciate it if I could just be reassigned. They finally caved and reassigned me. Thought that was the worst of it...I was wrong. When my fob was reprogrammed to my new room, I was greeted by a baby at the door and a mom who was in total shock. I ran down to the leasing office to see if there was a mix-up. In the meantime, my mom stayed with all my moving boxes, and the maintenance man who was occupying the unit started yelling at my mom asking what we were doing in their room. My mom was completely shocked and tried explaining that this was the room the management staff told me to go to. They resolved the issue and moved me to a unit down the hall and I thought this would all be a funny story. WRONG My unit was a mess. The couch was dirty along with my fridge, cabinets, and my actual bedroom. There were patches on the wall that were never painted overall throughout the apartment (this has still not been fixed) My experience after this has only gotten worse. I had a package that was delivered and I asked the CA if she could open the package room since I never received a Luxer Code... she said no try again in a couple of hours. No one ever answers the phones, the staff is rude and management is even worse. I had a lockout situation at 6:10 two weeks ago (the office closes at 6:00 PM) and it took them an hour and a half to let me. I would understand if it was 1 am but the leasing office just closed. I tried calling APD & UTPD and there was nothing they could do. I also had a take-home exam that usually takes 2 hours to complete due in 3 ;) To top it all off, I have a concession on my lease agreement and there was a mix-up with my payments. The remaining amount that I thought the concession would cover didn't and they threatened to evict me. Luckily I got the situation resolved but if they were to answer the 10+ phone calls I gave in two days, none of their issues would be happening. The moral of the story is DO NOT LIVE AT THE STANDARD"
"Would give 0 stars if I could. Don’t know who is there now but when I lived there, the building managers would constantly argue with tenants any time they didn’t receive packages or utilities were broken. Wi-Fi and power constantly went out and work orders would take weeks to get fulfilled. Been trying to get my security deposit back and had to go to their office to talk to the manager. Said he would mail it to me but it’s been more than two weeks and haven’t heard from them. They are currently at 50% capacity right now. Even if they give you a sweet deal, don’t take it. There’s a reason they have to give discounts to everyone living there."
"Amazing views, cool pool, and friendly staff. The manager Brandon has been excellent to work with at every opportunity. Common areas throughout and hallways on my floor have all been consistently kept clean."
"The floor of my floor’s hallway is full of dirt and trash and the trash chutes are so full that our only given option is to take all the trash out to the front dumpster. The other residents of my floor can’t even do that, and despite the building saying they’d be fined, people are leaving trash outside the trash room. The building won’t fine them or take out the trash at the bottom of the chute frequently enough so it’s just been piling up. On top of that, we’ve had drunk groups of guys bang on our doors at night and scream. It just seems like building management doesn’t care and the apartment doesn’t feel safe if you’re a group of girls alone in your apartment at night. There’s security cameras everywhere and they hire security at night, so I’m not really sure why they keep asking residents who are affected to investigate these guys themselves. The management is ridiculously hard to get in contact with and you can assume that every good review here is fake and/or through them giving residents free gifts or perks for writing a 5 star one."
"What a great way to move to UT Austin! Chelsea has been super accommodating and lovely to work with. I was nervous to move here and it ended up being such a great fit! I also love my roomies and found the room pairing system really great. This place literally has every amenity you can think of and more! The cleaners and security are also really love to speak with. It's the ultimate student living and the best way to integrate into a new city. Thank you! PS: The sunsets and sunrises are mesmerising!"
