"Bad form progressive. Lied to about Oregon minimum requirements!?!? Everything you can do to earn a dollar off a hard working person. Our money is all you’re after. Sad that we have to find out from another insurance company I was lied to by you to get more of my money and someone can fill their pockets. Never should have come back to you. Paying more for a 98 Volvo than I was for a 15 Subaru!?!? 10/10 do not recommend Oregon Progressive agents."

"This insurance company added my neighbor to my policy without permission from either one of us! They then took $526.33 from my account and won't give me my money back for 12 days! I canceled my policy and then I found out they submitted an accident claim on my car for an accident that didn't happen! This company is a terrible company and WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! IF YOU HAVE A GRIEVANCE WITH THIS COMPANY FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER!"

"I was a progressive customer for three years. I logged into my account to check on something and happened to noticed that they were doubling my monthly payment, so it would be $750! I had to dig into account documents and finally learned that they had "auto add" a driver because I had checked on a quote. They never had my permission to change my policy. They didn't reach out to me to inform me that my payment was doubling. Most people cannot afford to have a payment suddenly double out of the blue, without warning. It was after this that I discovered Progressive is NOT BBB accredited and has a 1 star rating with BBB, plus almost 5,000 complaints in the last three years! It looks like only a small number of those complaints were closed. I filed a complaint through BBB and Progressive has flat out refused to do anything about this, saying I owe them $400 backpay for the driver they autoadded, even though I cancelled as soon as I saw what they did. The weird thing is, many of the 1 star reviews on BBB mention that they were customers for three years when things went downhill. Nice way to treat your loyal customers!"

"Don’t do it. My monthly payment changes every single month. I have to call almost every month to get clarity on why my payment has increased, the “billing activity” on the app doesn’t explain anything. It shows your balance but it doesn’t show why you’re paying for. I thought I was caught up on payments because after my August’s payment, it told me $0 balance, now I owe $500 and being told it’s from last months charges… even tho to my knowledge I had paid everything that was due. Apparently the app needs time to update or whatever after you make a payment, even though I paid what it told me to and I still owed?? Makes no sense. I call nearly every month to get clarity on my charges which turns into a 20-30 min call because the representatives struggle to make it make sense and I end up talking to a supervisor. They list out many charges that I do not see on my end or if lose a discounted rate, I have no awareness of. This month I owe $500 because of a renewal process fee that is not stated anywhere. Also just discovered that the dates of billing activities on my app don't match when I view it on desktop or the website itself, like weeks difference it just a couple days. I’m ending my policy now due to the annoyance and frustration of a new or different charge every month with little to no explanation. Im mainly writing this in hopes someone from the company sees it and makes updates to the app and the billing activity, I can’t be the only one with this problem but they do make me feel stupid when I’m trying to figure out why I owe $500 instead of $115. One representative couldn’t make it make sense and just said “well it looks correct but I can get a supervisor…” obviously yes!! Why would I be ok with paying that much with no explanation?! After being explain that it’s added up from 2 late fees and half of last months payment, I was so mad that to my knowledge I had paid everything I owe last month and you’re telling me I’ve been trying to catch up since June?! & I’ve called multiple times since, every time I get a different explanation and not once was I informed that I was playing catch up. This is ridiculousssssss and stupid that I pay $200 a month for a car I barley drive, every time they tell me they can re do my policy for less of a payment but then it goes back up over a few months."

"I had Progressive auto insurance for nearly 7 years. For about 6 years, I was really happy with them & had absolutely no complaints. Then they informed me that they removed my email off my account because it was "invalid" & an e-mail they sent had been returned. I was really confused because I was using the same e-mail the entire time & was getting e-mails from them with no issue until this happened. I asked them to re-add the e-mail to my account & they told me they did. However, I never got an e-mail from them again after that. This wasn't a big deal until I got locked out of my online account. I tried to reset my password, but wasn't getting the e-mail to reset it. I tried this multiple times on different days before finally calling Progressive for help. They told me there was nothing they could do to help me, even after I explained I had no problem getting e-mails until after they marked my e-mail address as invalid. I asked if they can't help me reset my password, could they help me set up a new online account. I was told there's nothing they can do because it's my responsibility. I asked them how I'm supposed to check my policy info and make payments if I don't have access to an online account and was told I could just call them every time I needed info or to make a payment. I informed them this wasn't really practical because their phone wait times have often been long for me. The lady got pretty rude with me and I told her if there's no way for me to access my policy info or make payments online anymore, then I would like to cancel my policy. I was surprised that they were perfectly okay losing a loyal customer over an issue they caused by removing my e-mail/marking it invalid, but went through with the cancellation. The lady kept asking for my e-mail to send the cancellation confirmation to & I asked her to mail it to me instead, reminding her the whole reason I'm canceling is because I'm not getting e-mails from them and haven't for about a year. She said she would, but I never received an e-mail or mailed documents about the cancellation."
