"I recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Mando at PCVI. The surgical staff as well as the clinical staff and Dr. Mando were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and answered any questions that I had. The process involved an eye exam and nurse consult a few days before the surgery. The day of surgery I fasted, the nurse placed an IV in my arm and reviewed my medical history again, and various drops were used to dilate and numb one eye. A sterile sticky plastic was placed over my face, a device was used to hold my eye open, and from the IV sedative I was conscious but felt no pain nor any need to blink. The next day I had a follow up appointment, then about 10 days later the other eye was done, again with a check-up the day after surgery and about a month later. I did upgrade to a multi-focal lens and Dr. Mando adjusted the type of lens to use in my second eye to give me the best vision possible. I am very happy with the results and I highly recommend PVCI and Dr. Mando. Earlier this year Dr. Mando also performed PRK surgery on my son. The PRK recovery is longer than for Lasik but my son is also very happy with the results."
