Bonita Court Apartments

"I have been living there for 7 years. Overall, nice place to live not many problems. The owner does a good job of vetting tenants. Units are airy where is doesn't feel like warehouse living. Borders a natural area, quite a few birds, occasionally deer. Creek used to have beavers. Very few amenities other than washer/dryer, covered parking, and garages. Originally, it was a cute place to live with quite a few families, community garden, and nice neighbors. After rents started going up many people had to move being due to being expensive and it lost its homely feel. Now it is just a bedroom community. Community Garden is gone, so are nice families. So sad. Maintenance has been kept up but the the outside of the buildings have deteriorated. The owner is reluctant to invest any money in the place. Seems every year there is a change in landscapers where some do not bother with keeping tings manicured. The owner is nice and sociable, she allows people to have potted gardens. Unfortunately rent has gotten too expensive to offset the lack of amenities."

"It's not bad, but the GPS for lyft or doordash, almost always gets put into the buildings near us, and we have to tell them how to get to us when they call. It adds another 10 to 20 for the dasher, and we have to keep telling anyone that comes to see us or drops us off, which exist it really. Google maps always puts everyone in the buildings behind us. I'm hoping Google can fix this."

"Apartment location was nice. Views were great. Management was good till owner fired the management company and took over "managing" the place herself. At that point around half the permanent residents, ourselves included, were forced to move because she doubled the rent in two years time and was expecting to raise it yet again. Truly not worth the rate increases, esp since it also meant less and less things done around the place once she took over."

"Greedy absentee landlord. The "maintenance guy" Gary chainsmokes around the complex and harasses you about the contents of your garbage. We were routinely interrogated when we took out trash and recycling. Apartments are not professionally cleaned before you move in. We found cigarette butts in our dishwasher trap. We found old receipts and an envelope of baby's first haircut in drawers. Gary "cleans" the apartments so she can save money. "Maintenance" and landlord ignore / don't really fix repairs. All appliances need to be replaced because they are old and outdated. She touts the apartments as "energy efficient" - none of these appliances are energy efficient. Landlord cut down all of the trees between units so a) no privacy and b) 3rd floor is sweltering in the summer. In winter, the windows collect condensation and you'll have to clean it constantly to prevent mold growth. Landlord will arbitrarily increase rent upon lease renewal. We faced an increase of over 20% after living there one year. Two good things: In-unit washer and dryer and there's a porch storage closet -- if your washer and dryer don't break down, that is. Summary: She charges WAY too much for crappy units. Spend $100 more per month and live somewhere else."

"For the 8 months that I lived here, the landlord and maintenance had refused to acknowledge/respond/fix the chronic, expansive mold issues happening not only in my apartment but in several of the other units in the apartment community. I have evidence of the damage and have lost several hundred dollars (honestly, probably over a thousand dollars considering it also ruined furniture) worth of possessions to the mold. I've attached pictures of the moldy apartment. Keep in mind, this was AFTER routinely cleaning the areas with straight-up bleach. There's even rust on the carpets from where I had a desk with metal legs because of the constant moisture seeping through the walls that was not addressed in the least. I contacted the management every few weeks to try to get them to do something--anything--to address it and I was routinely brushed off. Because of her refusal to fix the issue, I developed respiratory issues that forced me to move out of my apartment. Please don't live here. I don't want anyone else to have to live in conditions that the landlord is clearly aware of and is choosing to ignore."
