"She was informed in advance that I am sensitive to sound (severe hyperacusis) and she said she could not lower her volume. She said "I know what hyperacusis is," then she said, "how I talk is how I talk," in response to my comment that her volume was so loud that I had to wear earplugs just to sit in the same room with her. I then found her to be cold, lacking in empathy, lacking in understanding, but efficient in a sort of minimum standard sort of way, perhaps like a military doctor who has a long line of recruits to examine. She's okay for minimal competence as far as I can tell, she's not medically incompetent but she does not seem to care about all people equally based on her treatment of me and her previous 5 star review, it's almost like she has two distinct personalities, one for people that talk, another for deaf/hearing impaired. I cringed when she touched me. I was happy to get away from her. Follow up was miserable, inefficient and her staff made minimal effort to make referral appointments as requested. Reasonable accommodations for severe hearing impairment were promised but not made. Staff talked at me in reception. Prescribed medicine did not work. Repeated written medical questions were not answered. Staff claims it takes 48 hours for them to receive and respond to email. I cannot recommend this individual if one has a choice. I don't always have a choice, she was available so I agreed to see her. Unlike the other patient, who left the first review of Dr. Taub, I felt Dr. Taub's treatment of me left me worse than when she found me and without any sense of moral, ethical or humane understanding from her. Less than one month after seeing her, without follow up, without any direct conversation she summarily sent me a form letter "dismissing" me from her practice. Dismissed because I am different? Because I asked for written follow up? The form letter states the doctor takes no responsibility for anything, including referrals she made and medical records she created and asked for. There was never any problem with payment. I came on time for one appointment. I followed all procedures. She saw me once briefly then dumped me out like a piece of garbage, with reckless disregard for my health. How is this legal? I will notify both licensing and BOLI and see if they can offer guidance."
