"Direct-to-consumer, local seafood. What's not to love? I'm "that person" who enjoys asking questions about who, how, and where the seafood I eat is caught, produced, processed, etc. because buying sustainable, local seafood really matters to me. All too often, whether I'm at markets or restaurants, when I ask where the seafood comes from, I hear responses like "I don't know" or "USA in general", which immediately turns me away. It's a really special thing to learn about the human experiences, love, and work that goes into getting seafood from the ocean to tables. So when I visited The Tinned Fish and spoke to the owner, I was thrilled to learn that their retail shop is run by the daughter of a fisherman. They sell tins of locally-caught tuna and salmon, as well as a variety of other tinned seafood items like oysters. I was especially happy to see that their Royal Chinook Salmon is even caught in Oregon waters. Rare to find that these days, especially for Corvallis! I made the most delicious sandwich melts with the Royal Chinook and Gourmet Albacore. Highly recommend you check this place out! TLDR; Why buy canned fish at the grocery store when you can buy more local and sustainable options directly from a fishing family's shop?"

"If you’re looking for an outstanding snack option, this is the place for you! I’ve never had better smoked oysters, and there’s plenty more if you’re not looking for seafood. From chocolate to hot sauce, lots of hidden gems here. New items keep popping up, so I’ll keep coming back."
