Not the over done "Portland Weird" cliche, but instead, a cool fusion of small coffee house and bike shop that is trying to make the world a better place in its own little way. "Had a coffee and conversation here a few days ago with friends. First the coffee was great, but more than that this place is really interesting. The floor is covered in pennies of various shades that make patterns. We were told that you could see them better through the lens of your phone camera and that appears to be true. In the back there is a bike shop. The not-so-secret to Braking Cycles is that it helps fund a nonprofit that helps youth get off the street and into housing. What an excellent way to spend a few bucks on coffee."
