Shari's Cafe and Pies

"We arrived at the restaurant and sat ourselves, since there was no sign saying otherwise. Once seated, we waited and waited and waited. The hostess looked this way and that, walked hither and yon but was doing absolutely NOTHING. I waved my arm at her with vigor. I even called to her, she not once acknowledged me. Still NOTHING. We were ignored. Finally after about 15 minutes, I got up, went over to the counter to the hostess, who by this time was just standing there, and asked her if we could be served. The look she gave me was not a friendly one. There was no apology, no smile, nothing. She gave us menus, took our drink order, and said she'd give us a few minutes to look over the menu. It took us 5 minutes to decide what we wanted. Then we waited and waited and waited. In the meantime, a customer who had walked in after us was served right away, and the hostess was over at that customer's table shooting the breeze having a grand old conversation while we were still sitting there waiting for someone to take our order. Finally, after my friend flagged down the waitress, we ordered our food, which took too long to get. Trying to get our ticket so we could pay took way too long as well. We will NEVER EVER eat at Shari's EVER again."

"My husband and I came here tonight for dinner and I was very hesitant due to the fact several other times we have came here for dinner the service was horrendous. When we walked in tonight Brian greeted us right away and had a fabulous attitude. Brian checked on us several times throughout our dinner and was super friendly. Haven’t had a good experience here at dinner time over the past year until tonight. Thank you Brian for making us super comfortable and taking care of us tonight. Sad to hear you are moving to day shift possibly. But we will see you during the day hopefully. Thank you again and thank you to whoever hired this man! ~ Steve & Sam."

"Night and day picking up takeout from this Shari's compared to the absolute disaster that is Shari's South Salem. Friendly hard working staff who had a smile and were very polite in asking if another pie would work as they were out of banana pie. The order was hot and packaged with care. Maybe South Salem should take a leaf out of y'all book and be completely retrained. Well done team!"

"We stopped here before making our way to Silver Falls. I'm rating this based on what you should expect to get. This establishment is older, so the atmosphere is a lot like an IHOP. There was only one lady working all the tables. So I don't fault her. She was doing her best and was keeping up where she could. She definitely needs help. The food was good for the expected quality."
