Elmer's Restaurant (Eugene, OR)

"I was more than pleased with the service, and the food is good. However, I was very disappointed in the manager whom I observed on two occasions during my 1 hr+busy time, in the bar area. It was hard to miss their mood and her body language when they approached an employee on two occasions during the time I was there. I'm wondering if that supervisor has ever considered approaching staff in a private space, or with a positive attitude? I wonder if that supervisor was trained, and did they pay attention during training? Sorry, but I will not return to Elmer's. I had no problem with the busy time. I was feeling good about spending time in the bar. But it was painful to watch what occurred...as a mental health clinical supervisor, I have seen enough..."

"I want to start this review with the food was amazing in quality, quantity, and price. The atmosphere was very good and clean, even with it being a sports bar and family themed restaurant. The reason for the two stars was due to the service me and my queer partner received. When we walked in we waiting at the counter for a solid 2-3 minutes before seeing anyone show up to the desk. She in a very monotone voice asked us how many we had and sat us down. She walked away and came back 2 minutes later asking about drinks and seemed irritated that we didn’t see a drink section on the menu. She took our drinks and came back shortly after. I made sure that I caught her name, Susan O, to make sure I can write this review with full honest and facts. She was only gone another 2-3 minutes before asking us what we’d like to eat. This made us feel very rushed. While the food was cooking she asked us what we were up to that day and when my partner mentioned we were on a date her entire demeanor changed and she felt cold and short with us. This lasted throughout the rest of the dinner until while I stepped away to use the restroom where she tried to (what seemed like) gain some karma points for a tip by chatting with my partner. She also brought another round of drinks out without us asking and she seemed offended when we asked if they were also free. We felt extremely unwelcome so we got boxes and left. I also did some research and it seems like this place has some unfortunate similar things in its past. It’s unfortunate that a place with such wonderful food can be ruined by such poor service."

"I took my husband for his birthday. The food was delicious and the serving great. Damon was our server. He was fantastic. Very attentive. They even had beautiful roses in the ladies rest room❤️"

"I was a little worried when we parked that we would have a long wait, we were pleasantly surprised. I forgot how big this restaurant is inside. What a great customer service experience! We were greeted the moment we walked in by cherry Mariah, who seated us quickly. Chuck did a wonderful job waiting on us, the cooks created delicious food! I apologize I started eating before I snapped the photo. Lol. Great menu choices. I love when places offer German pancakes. Will definitely be back soon."

"My husband ordered the country biscuit breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs w cheese, hash browns, and a side of pancakes, all of which my husband said were 5 star items. Unfortunately, I got the chicken strip basket which were generic frozen things that came with cold fries. I also ordered 2 pancakes, but because I don't care for syrup, didn't care for the quality. The restaurant was packed, it being new years day which definitely accounts for the wait and forgotten items, but the service was very friendly and welcoming. I think we'll have to go back so I can try some different menu items in the future."
