"Gary is super friendly and gave us coupons for free ice cream in town. The airport had a courtesy car, first come, first serve. Gary also said they had bikes we could use! Town is only a couple of miles and in town there are numerous restaurants. We plan to return and stay overnight. What a fabulous fly-in destination~"

"I hadn't flown into Florence in a long time. While I was refueling, airport volunteer Gary came by and introduced himself and made us aware of the lounge they had available for our use just a few feet. He also informed us that Florence Airport had a courtesy car and courtesy mountain bikes ready for our use. We took them up on the courtesy car and drove to old town Florence and had some great clam chowder at the Fire House. The airport is maintained very well and is very pilot friendly, thanks to volunteers like Gary. Thanks Gary! This is a fantastic airport to fly into!"

"Flew into Florence last August from Lakeside, and it's a nice little airport not far from the rest of town. Gentlemen in the airport office were very friendly and helpful. As is true for most coastal airports, can get heavy wind gusts. Decided to do a go around on my first attempt after I had the stick full over to counteract a crosswind gust. Four years ago when my wife and I went in there they loaned us the old airport car. Looked like about a 1980 Chrysler. Ran fine and got us to Old Town area and back and just cost a few bucks for gas (we put in well more than what we used, but that's just good manners.) Don't know if they still have it, but a quick call would likely get you the answer! Beyond the beauty of flying along the ocean, going over the sand dunes to the south is quite spectacular as well."
