"I employed SMS Fabrics to do a pair of door panels in April of 2021. Per Doug in email, I would have them back in a couple months. Over two years later and a pile of excuses I had to cancel my order. Lost the customer and received a negative review. Now I’m in the process of trying to get my refund. This has been a terrible business transaction. I highly advise against doing business with this company. A simple refund in a timely manner would have resulted in my satisfaction. Putting me off for weeks is not great customer service. I refunded my customer the day they requested it. Was pretty simple…"

"I have one order I placed in 2020 for door panels and another in 2021 for seat covers. I have asked them to do a bench seat pattern on bucket seats and they agreed, I told them if they can't do it to just send me back my seat covers and send me the material so I can have them done locally. I was told it would be 4 months delivery, but I knew it would be at least 18. They are the only company left that has the factory materials and I am doing a full restoration on a 1963 Mercury Monterey convertible. I placed my order and sent my money when the world was shutting down and who knew if their business survives. I have rebuilt the engine, transmission brakes, dash suspension and have all new bright work and rubber ready to be installed. I need the door panels I ordered in 2020 so I only need to remove the doors and fenders once. I send emails once a month and get a new delivery date that passes and then I get a new delivery date, rinse and repeat. I have not left a review, because I know they do great work and are very busy, but they recently were offering a 10% discount on new orders while my order is 3 years past the promised delivery date. I would love to amend this review with pictures of a restored car that draws a crowd when parked at the grocery store."

"This review is for my restoration project that I completed a few years ago. It's overdue feedback, but SMS Auto Fabrics deserves the recognition. I got all my interior material from SMS for my 1984 Monte Carlo. The material was an exact match to the original. Upon unraveling the vinyl that I received, I found it was stained. SMS exchanged that material for me quickly. No harm no foul. The seats, upper door panels, head liner and visors came out beautifully. I could not be happier with the results. I’m planning for the interior for my next project, and I will be getting my material from SMS Auto Fabrics."

"I ordered all of the upholstery materials from SMS for a 1960 Imperial LeBaron. The yardage for the seats came quickly, including the pearlized leather and matching vinyl. All excellent quality. The pre-sewn headliner also arrived fairly quickly. The pre-sewen carpets and the re-done sun visors took a little longer. again, all excellent quality. In my opinion, SMS does a great job providing original materials. Yes, some of the items take a while to get, but I would rather wait for an excellent product as opposed to getting a poor product quickly. Planning ahead is important, I ordered everything for the interior at the beginning of the restoration and I would encourage others to do the same. As far as customer service, I have not had any issues, Kim and Doug have always responded to my inquires. I am still waiting for the door panels to be redone, but again, I knew going into this project that it would be a long wait and I anticipate that in the end, their quality will be worth it!"
