Breckenridge 6525 Park Manor Drive, Metairie, LA 70003

"Finding the best apartment is an especially personal search. My work required me to relocate many times, so when it comes to apartment hunting I have developed specific/ subjective priorities. When I say that the 1st Lake Breckenridge apartments in Metairie are exceptional, please keep in mind that in addition to the regular "must haves" (w/d, fridge, cleanliness etc.) things most important to me, are light, space, privacy, and responsive, professional management. The Breckenridge easily rates five stars in these specific requirements! Windows are plentiful and allow light even in the downstairs apartments. Many apartments at the Breckenridge have both a front and back door and a balcony or patio (patios have tended grass area along the entire back of the building). Gay, the manager, is an experienced professional who is also an attentive listener, and more than willing to address any questions or concerns that may come up. "Walkability" score should be higher, as one can stroll through the beautiful park to gain access to more restaurants and shops just a short distance away. There are many small but significant details in these apartments that make the difference between just occupying a nice space (which includes these apartments) and living in a real home, which, to me, the 1st Lake Breckenridge apartments certainly are!"

"Breckenridge is the fourth apartment that I've lived in, and so far, tied with the best. I chose the apartment complex not for absolute perfection, but on account of it being the best balance of a number of factors: value, location, neighborhood, and the apartments themselves. My apartment is old, but well maintained, and the best apartment for the price I found in several full days of searching. Everything works properly, and the few concerns that I had on move-in were quickly and professionally addressed. I picked one of the smallest units; I opted for it for the price, but like it for the floor plan that has lots more closet space than most comparable units I checked out. The in-appartment washer/dryer was another major plus. The apartment complex is about a three minute walk from Lafreniere park, and has a two mile running track, and the neighborhood feels pretty safe. Management just finished a handful of renovations to the buildings and pool, spiffing things up a good bit. Skimming through the reviews, there's a few complaints that are generally true (sewer issues). I'm pretty sure that this is an issue with the city's famous Sewerage and Water board. In any case, no problems since they poured new concrete for parking spaces out front, and I suspect re-did the connection. As another person mentioned, the assistant manager, Gay, has always been very responsive and straightforward."

"I went to property 3 times this week and there weren’t any units available to view. However, I was told that if I wanted the unit, I needed to place a deposit within 3 days to guarantee the rate. I didn’t think its fair that I have to place a deposit when I couldn't see an updated unit or one similar to the unit I would be staying in. My current contract is up on the last day of September. I also had my application, and deposits ready to place down at Breckenridge each day. “I can show you a unit in September on the 10th, but you would have to place a deposit now for me to hold it”, is what I was told by Ms. Gay. She also told me that there were updated pictures she could send me via email. When I received the pictures, they were all form 2011. Again, I had no problem placing a deposit, IF I CAN SEE THE UNIT. I cannot place a deposit on a room if I haven’t seen it, and I only have a floor plan and pictures from 2011. If I wait until the 10th to see the unit, I run the risk of having 2 weeks to find accommodations in a another apartment If Breckenridge isn’t what I like. They still tried to force me to place a deposit on a unit i never seen and wouldn't refund me if i didn't like it. on an 18 month lease! ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Management now is emailing me saying they attempted to reach out and resolve when they actually didn't. No effort was made at all to solve, barely even "heard me out". i hate that you are going to pretend as if you did. So happy i didn't get trapped there! I BEG OF YOU, DO NOT be the next Victim!"

"I moved 2 months ago and they send me a letter charge me $900 dllrs fpr the carpet and counter top That's a pice a Sht fraud management the apartments the manager omg she had a rude personality she laughs on your face when something broke up.. I was given the apartment in very very bad condition. Almost all appliances were either not working or rusty, dirty, scratched. I also mentioned all these things in the checklist (attached here) when I got the apartment. They had to change the Dish-Washer, Refrigerator, Fan, etc immediately after I got the apartment after so many follow ups. Now when I vacate the apartment, they charged me extra $150 for the kitchen top counter while it was already scratched and dirty. Its a fraud, They never return deposit Money. They also did the same thing with one of my friend for the carpet. I saw the carpet was already very very bad condition when they gave the apartment to him. It's highly unprofessional behavior. Never. Never go to brickenridge on my life discussing Anyone can have the idea by looking at the comments in the checklist-form which I attached here. They give the apartment in very bad condition and the they will charge you when you vacate it."

"Ms. Gay, the apartment manager, was so great and very informative from day one. She followed up and kept updating us with the available units till we signed one. The unit was in great shape and very spacious. No problem at all during our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place specially if you want to be within a few steps from lafreniere park! Awesome location and pretty quite too."
