Tropicana Apartments of Groves

"Location is great, but my bikes were stolen and my car was broken into. The landlord is overbearing, often looks down on you and I really hope it wasn't based on ethnicity. She charged a "cleaning fee" at the end of our almost 5-year stay there, and we had left it spotless. Neighbors were all nice, and Brandon (the keeper) is very polite and friendly. Washers don't usually work and when they do, they don't do a great job. Our AC during the summer never worked appropriately (we were always hot) even when they tried to fix it. The vent hood never worked either (so we had to open the door every time we cooked or else we would start tearing up). Don't even make me start about the pool. The two stars are for location, and friendliness of the keeper. I really want to give one star because the landlord is absolutely arrogant and despotic, but I'm being as fair as I can. All in all, I only enjoyed my stay because all my neighbors were pleasant and I was close to all the places I care about."

"Absolutely loving our new home here! Quiet, friendly, and peaceful community. Yes I said community, not complex because it feels more like a tight nit community than a basic, lackluster apartment complex. Our neighbors are quiet, friendly, and polite. The residents here are wonderful. Yes I said residents, not tenants because many I have met so far have been here for years. Some 5, 8, 15, 21 and 30 plus years! The owners, management, and maintenance are great, friendly folks. Not a day has gone by yet that I haven't seen at least one of them and have been asked if everything was ok, was anything needing worked on, and are we still happy here. I absolutely love sitting out on my patio day and night without being bothered by loud vehicles, stray traffic, or random walkers cutting through. I was really surprised how quiet it can be being so close to BIg Lots, Walmart, etc. I have been very impressed to see the owners and maintenance on site almost daily, working away at updating the apartments. We have only been here a short time compared to many of the neighbors I've met, but I can see us being some of their long term residents!"

"These apartments are one of the worst apartments i have ever seen. I have been here for quite a while sufering in this hell hole of a place. They never fix anything. The manajer is super controlling you cant even go where you want to go when she is in her ofice because she will wach you and ask you about it later even though its none of her busnes and she does not know the laws that aply to the contract you have to sighn. Plese save yourself the money and time and go somwhere else"

"DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING INTO THIS PLACE. This place is a joke. The landlord is also a joke. Half of the stuff in the apartment falls apart or breaks always say they’re gonna come and fix it and never do. Made OUTRAGEOUS accusations when moving out when lease was up. But didn’t have anything to say prior to moving out. I’ve also heard and know of multiple people catching bed bugs from this place. Last time I wrote a review the landlord had the audacity to come to me and speak to me very rudely because she was upset about it. Way to be professional. This place is absolute trash do not waste your time or money."

"Horrible place to live. The landlord is greedy and don't ever expect to get your deposit back no matter how hard you clean, she will find a way to not give you your money back. The landlord is not understanding and will kick you out on Christmas if you don't pay your rent on time. Even after we had a hurricane."
