"Nice courthouse and grounds that includes signs and beautiful Confederate war memorial. This county is one of the original shires (therefore oldest counties) in America and essentially where America got its start. An interesting historical note: It was in this county in the 1650s that Anthony Johnson (a free black man) became both one of the first blacks to own land in America and the first man legally recognized as a slaveowner."
"As the other review pointed out, it is the courthouse and jail. However, there's a nice little courthouse square with a statue, some picturesque old offices on Lawyer's row, and a handful of other interesting looking buildings. A good place to stop and stretch your legs while driving US 13."
