"Love this ruin that Thomas Jefferson designed. It’s still in tact to the point you can see how beautiful it must have been. Next stop, the winery ;)"

"Intesesting for history and architecture buffs. Designed by Thomas Jefferson for the Governor of Virginia James Barbour. Location at a winery was a bonus."

"Simple ruin of a the governor's old mansion, designed by Thomas Jefferson. It's well preserved, although you can't get particularly close or see in beyond the exterior walls well, presumably due to safety concerns. Particularly beautiful at sunrise, so if you are staying over in the inn or the cottages, it makes for a great short early morning excursion."

"We came here during a weekend afternoon, and this place was not crowded at all. Visitors could just park nearby and walk in without buying any ticket. We planned the trip to visit the vineyard first and then came here. It’s a very short drive. Although there’s no much to see, it’s a nice spot to stop by for a bit if you happen to visit this area. "Why would this place not get 5 stars? It’s free, well maintained and free. Good views. Ruins are cool. Not much to see but perfect to grab a glass or bottle of win and come hang out."
