Silver Lake Mill 2328 Silver Lake Road, Dayton, VA 22821

"I love this place. It's close to home with plenty of shoreline to fish. It's trout a tocked when in season. Great for perch fishing. Bass fishing, however, can be challenging. The lake really needs to be dredged and restocked with bass and catfish, but that doesn't affect my rating. It's also a great place in the spring and fall for bird watching if you're into that kind of thing. The picture I've added is a picture of the moon rising."

"This place offers free tours and shares the history of the mill. It was burned by General Custer during the war and burned again a few years later. It has changed hands several times since then. The mill is not in operation now, but all of the mechanisms are in place and functional. The lake is beautiful, especially from the upper windows of the mill."
