Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown

"This place is not horrible, just not worth the money at all. Very dated. No USB ports so be sure to have a charger. $20 a day for parking but no spots available in garage so I guess I'm paying twice for parking. That ticks me off. Rooms are pretty small and fairly clean but again, old and needs updated to the 2000's."

"Convenient location, right across from the convention center. Room is comfortable and clean. Customer service staff is noticably subpar at this Marriott compare to most other Marriott hotels I have stayed at. I purchased the breakfast package with the room reservation, not knowing that they use a voucher system to redeem limited choice menu at the Cafe. At check-in, they didn't explain the breakfast voucher and did not give me the vouchers. The next morning I went to the Cafe, ordered food and put the charge on the room bill. The second morning (my check out day), I saw that my previous day breakfast charges were added to the hotel bill, meaning the breakfast package did not cover any cost of the breakfast food. So I asked the front desk and came to find out about the vouchers. They gave me the voucher for that morning but refused to compensate for the mistake at check-in for missing the previous morning's voucher. Just be aware that if you purchase the breakfast package, be sure to ask for the vouchers at check-in. At other hotel chains if they make this type of mistake, they will at least offer to compensate you with reward points, not here."

"I was in town for a week of training here and while the overall experience was very good, Kori Pepper and her Bistro staff were a very welcomed respite every evening from the long days of training. I would gladly stay here again if only to enjoy her and her teams hospitality! Well done and thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!"

"I was a little disappointed with my stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown. This is a nice place to stay, and the Bistro was good. There was plenty of room in the lobby for our group to socialize and work. My room was nice, clean, and had everything I needed, but it was a little small and cramped. The staff were friendly and attentive except for one security personnel. One of the security guys simply stood in the middle of the door and wouldn't step to the side to let me through. I had to walk around him to go inside. It was very awkward, to say the least. Parking was awful. Parking was across the street in the convention center parking garage. My vehicle was vandalized during my stay. They attempted to break into it with no success, thankfully. I suppose I just expected more."

"I stayed there multiple times in early 2023, while doing some work in Tacoma. I found the hotel to be nice, clean, and accommodating. The location is ok (not great), and there are various restaurants near by that are pretty good. One down side is that people would drive loudly late at night, but that sorta out of my hands. I thought the staff was amazing. They often went above and beyond to help me out, and were always professional. The valet guys were super helpful and responsive. I would totally stay there again if I am in Tacoma."
