"I was running late for my appointment, so I called ahead to notify them and ensure it wouldn’t be a problem. Upon my arrival, I encountered an extremely unfriendly barber with a negative attitude. She curtly informed me that I was 10 minutes late for a 20-minute haircut. I apologized and mentioned that I had called ahead, but she appeared indifferent. I inquired if my tardiness was an issue, and she replied with a terse “no.” However, as I made my way to the barber chair, I could sense her irritation and decided it would be best not to proceed with the haircut. I asked if I would be charged, and she assured me I wouldn’t be. I thanked her for her demeanor and promptly left. I didn’t catch her name, but she had short hair with two braids down the middle and shaved sides. I had to reschedule my haircut at the Ballard location, where the staff was incredibly welcoming and even apologized for my experience at the Belltown branch."
"I had soooo much anxiety about getting my hair cut for the first time in 30 years. I wanted a change but had no idea what that change should look like, just a mood or vibe I was hoping for. Ash was able to give me that and so much more. We talked about some ideas and then she started, a little length at a time to ease me into it. The nerves quickly subsided, replaced by joy and excitement on how this was turning out. In the end, I left with more than I was hoping for. A great new look, information on how to keep it up and options on styling not only my hair but beard as well. A truly enjoyable experience. Ash is more than a barber or stylist, but an artist at her craft."
