"TLDR; They have no attention to detail and might mess up your real estate transaction if you aren’t paying close enough attention. I recently sold a home with multiple owners and Ticor Title took care of all the titling needs for the transaction. From the very beginning there were issues, beginning with them misspelling one of the partie’s names on the paperwork. We notified them of this and they said it would be rectified. They sent out mobile notaries to complete closing paperwork and not only was one of the seller’s names still misspelled, but everyone received additional documents in their stack that belonged to a completely different transaction. When we (there were four sellers) notified them of this, they said everything was fine and they would get out the missing paperwork for us to sign in the “next couple of days” which was alarming because it was a Monday and we were supposed to close on that Thursday. I ended up having to contact them back 24 hours later to get the docs sent out to everyone who had been patiently waiting to finish the paperwork that should’ve already been done. We were assured that our close would still take place on Thursday. Thursday came and went and some excuses were made as to why we could no longer close on that day and we were told it would be on Friday instead. On Friday they made the unfortunate decision of waiting to record our sale until the end of the day. I had to reach out in order to learn this information and at this time they informed me that due to it being recorded so late in the day, no wire transfers would take place until Monday. This lack of urgency on Ticor Title’s part essentially caused a four day delay in even initiating the transfers. They finally initiated my transfer on Monday, not on Friday as they stated they would, which resulted in me having to actually wait until Tuesday to receive my funds. Two of the four parties did not receive the paper checks that were requested. One had to visit their office in person to remedy it and the other had to switch to doing a wire transfer. This is now 11 days after the close and we were told the checks would be overnighted to us. In the end everything finally worked out, but in my opinion, a company who handles transactions valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars or more should be working meticulously and diligently to ensure that these transactions and the paperwork for them are executed flawlessly. It cost a lot of money to work with them and it was a very stressful process to say the least. If you have a choice in the matter, I would recommend choosing any other company."

"My office has figured that in 3 transactions this year the bumbling lack of professionalism, lack of communication and general bad customer service has cost our company over $6000,00 in fees and penalties. They are terrible. We had such high Hope's that finaly we had a new title company in Astoria that would be at a better level than there predecessors. Instead they are worse. So disappointing. Investors beware this company is Not friendly to your needs."

"Terrible service. Incompetence. With regard to my property purchase, Ticor failed to find the legally recorded 10-foot utility easement that ran right through the middle of the property, and which contained over a 100-feet of a neighbor's sewer and water lines. Wouldn't you think this would be important for a buyer to know? I had to find it myself and tell them about it. Further, the plat maps I got showed the two lots I was buying as running east and west and on another plat map they ran north and south. On still another plat map they were shown not as two parcels but as a single larger one. This one had been surveyed and recorded with the County as two parcels in 2005, but that fact, which was unknown to me and which Ticor never alerted me to, had never reached the County Assessor's Office, which still showed it as one tax parcel. It wasn't until 13 years later in 2018, after I has purchased the property and had a second survey done, that this was corrected. Communication from Ticor was terrible. My first account executive did not return my calls and then vanished from the office entirely. I phoned Ticor about a number of issues, but routinely I was told such-and-such person was "on the phone." Return communications from Ticor would then show up as texts or e-mails or phone calls, which caused delays and missed messages. Adding to my problems with Ticor were the buyer and seller Realtors, who both failed to check on the escrow process and assist in correcting the problems that piled up and needlessly became conflicts. I was told by Ticor at one point that all they were required to do was convey what was already recorded. This narrow interpretation of their duties may serve this company well for completing so much of their day to day paper work, but, as my case shows, it left them unable to correctly identify unfamiliar issues and then impaired their ability to respond in an effective manner. The Ticor I saw was a narrowly focused one that failed to be thorough and see the overall view, which in other words is a business that failed at management."
