"Planned out this hike. Luckily this place has reception. Trail does get confusing if you never been there before. Needs to notify publico that if water is running then need waterproof hiking shoes and clothes as there is not crossing point except through river. After speaking with a few peeps who have been there multiple times confirmed across river is the only way to cross. We had a pup so thought that was a weird detail to not include. Other than that prolly should separate bike trails from walk trails from horse trails. Beautiful hike. Easy access. Easy parking. Easy hike. Highly recommend."
"Busy on the weekends, not as crowded during the week. Have done this trail many times. It's a pretty flat hike, but doesn't have shade for stretches at a time. During the daylight hours there can be equestrians with horses, often lots of hikers, mountain bikers, and dogs on leash. Once the sun starts setting you won't really see the horses, but I have run face first into many a spider webs crossing even the widest parts of the trail and have seen more wildlife come out too."
"10/10 (pictures from early may), recommend power line trail for only about a mile walk to the falls, short and easy. very rewarding, my favorite spot to hike near mira mesa :)"
"This trail was very green for San Diego standards. Some paths were steep with rocks (I twisted my ankle) but it was worth it. Opportunities for bikers, horseback riders, and hikers. Not much parking on nearby roads, that's the only down side. Update: 2 years later, came back. This time started from Penasquitos Creek Park which has enough parking spaces. It's an open, green, quiet, and beautiful hike. We made it to the waterfall, crossed it, and walked back on the parallel path. It was worth taking a day off."
"Relatively easy hike as there is barely any elevation gain. Many different branches on the trail, some better suited for hikers only as they can get narrow. Good amount of shade and some large trees make this a better option if looking for a hike in warmer weather. Watch for mountain bikes as some will take the small trails and will not see you on the corners."
