"I was in labor for 22 hours in 2007. He refused to even come into my room. I was pushing for hours, my heart rate and my daughter’s heart rate were too low. I passed out several time while pushing, they wouldn’t call him in the room because he refused until my daughter was crowning; I should have had a c-section for my safety and my daughter’s safety. He wouldn’t see me. My husband threatened a law suit and he was in the room within five minutes. He came in; needed forceps and bruised my daughter’s head! It was barbaric! If you are pregnant and in Santa Barbara- don’t see him! Go anywhere else!!! Don’t see this doctor! He is lazy, incompetent, and horrible! 16 years later and I still hate this man!!! There aren’t enough OB/GYNs in Santa Barbara; that’s the only reason he is still in business!!"

"Similar issue as Jennifer posted. Very shady billing practices, same visits during pregnancy billed at wildly different costs. They also send things to collections before you get a bill and leave you to figure it out on your own. None of the bills match, nothing makes sense, and they trickle in forever. The medical practice is fine, but the billing practices should be investigated, they are accountable to no one."

"This is long overdue, and if this has happened to your family in between when this happened to us and my ability to write this I do apologize because I would’ve wanted to know this before going to this practice. We have had a relationship with this practice for over six years, through three births and three miscarriages. During that time we’ve had a few complications and probably at least 10 ultrasounds. Overall they’ve all been reasonably priced and Dr. Soffici has always been professional and courteous. The other doc has been harsh and insensitive at times especially in dealing with our loss, but at other times reasonable. With our last pregnancy we had two ultrasounds and the first one was the normal $300 that the previous eight or nine had been, but the last one was over $4000?! This was an incredible shock because there was no discussion of this more than 10x increase in price prior to incurring the charges, and it was not an emergency, it was elective. When we brought this to their attention, they said that they have had a policy change and an ownership change and there’s nothing they can do, and Dr. Soffici did not respond to our attempts to contact. We are obviously a young family and we make our health decisions and financial decisions very intentionally and we felt that not only did this practice abuse our trust, but also that they didn’t care."

"Love Dr Soffici but his office staff needs to get it together. This is the 2nd appointment they have rescheduled and the 2nd time my fetal echo has been rescheduled. I work fulltime and have to travel an hour each way just to get there. In my opinion they need more training."

"Excellent specialist, no wonder all the OBGs refer him. Seen him twice and each time he makes you feel welcomed. Edit: Last year seen him many times because of placenta privia. He was super thoughtful and helpful. He told me to reschedule my c-section forward, and because of this my baby girl and I are alive and healthy."
