"Raptor ambassadors and their handlers teach the public about their species, habitat, and prevalence in the local area. Fantastic free opportunity for all ages to learn and see. Donations support the facility and their conservation projects. Ample parking in a short grassy field. Wear comfortable shoes and consider bringing a chair. We will be back next year for the Hawk Watch!"

"A group of us went to Wildlife Research Institute while camping in the area. What a great event to go to - Hawk Watch. They had Red-Tailed Hawks, Owls, and other birds of prey. At the same time there were more eagles, hawks, and turkey vultures flying in the area! Lots of information and views of the birds of prey in the Ramona Grasslands."

"Amazing, incredibly informative hawk and owl talk. Word of mouth is making this more and more popular because you get a chance to see some rescued birds up close. They also set up telescopes so you can see the native and migrating raptors."

"The institute put on a great day at the Hawk watch in Ramona. These birds of prey are beautiful. WRI is doing good work to save their habitat. Saw a pair of nesting bald eagles in the tops of trees in the preserve."
