"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!! After many years of excellent business transactions, Historic Enterprises has completely dropped the ball in the last couple years. Like a previous review, I also ordered an arming doublet for big money. It arrived after 7 months, and it was too short in the torso and they said to send it back so I did. They acknowledged receipt April 6. It is now July. No word from them since. They have ignored email, contact forms, and Facebook messages. Between this and a subsequent order placed in May which they never sent, I'm now out almost $800 with absolutely nothing to show for it. I had wanted that arming double for LAST Pennsic. Unless they ship soon, I won't have it for THIS one either. I am extremely disappointed. Edit to add: Hours after posting the above review, I received a shipping notice that both my open orders were shipping together with a letter and a $200 check for the doublet issues. Had she left it there, I could change this from 1 to 3 stars based on my 20ish years as a customer, but they didn't. Apparently Gwen at Historic Enterprises tried to save face by posting about me in her (public!) Facebook group and then banning me from that group so I can't even see it if I'm logged in. Brilliant customer service. One star. Less if I could."
"Stay far away. Spent almost $400 on a custom arming doublet, and waited over 4 months for it. It showed up with poor tailoring and didn't function as designed. I sent it back for corrections, and the owner steals my jacket and refuses to fix it or return it to me. Now I'm out months of waiting with nothing to show for it."
"Absolutely fantastic customer service. In preparation for a friend's wedding I contacted them for assistance in choosing historically appropriate colors (nice enough for a wedding, but not too wealthy). They answered all of my questions and helped me select colors that would match when I confessed I was nervous about making a mistake. I've never had such great customer service and as a result, I felt completely comfortable spending every penny I spent and the products I received were exactly what I expected. Can't thank or recommend Historic Enterprises enough."
