They only care about your money as with most debt consolidators. They don’t actually care about helping you. This is exactly what I was afraid of and why I don’t inquire for stuff like this. You’re better off budgeting on your own and making a game plan to pay down your debt."

I hesitantly agreed to a secured loan using my title and asked numerous times on the phone what was left to do on my end before meeting with him in person and finalizing everything. I was told every time I just needed to bring in the title. Day of our appointment I get a voicemail while I’m at work saying please call before going in. No other details whatsoever—that’s always the nature of the voicemails. I call back 3 times with no answer so decide to head to the appointment anyway because we had agreed to meet. As I’m pulling into the parking lot I finally get a call back saying they can’t proceed because I’m due for a smog check soon. I guess it was a blessing in disguise as I really think I dodged a bullet doing business with someone who can’t keep things straight."
