"I adored working at Eau Claire Caravel. The only reason I had to leave was I moved pretty far away. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted with smiles and such kindness. The clinical director, scheduling specialist, BCBA’s, Senior Therapists and RBT’s/BT’s are all incredibly knowledgeable and will make you feel so welcomed. I have seen so many amazing instances where clients & family’s lives have been changed positively and it’s so heartwarming to see. The leadership here really focus on a kid’s individual strengths. The pay is also fair! There are quarterly opportunities for growth as well as getting your RBT Certification which they are so supportive and helpful with. The kiddos have tons of space to play and the opportunity to be social if they choose and make friends with their peers! If I could give Caravel 10 stars I would. My favorite place ever and I already miss it so much!"
"The co-workers are absolutely wonderful people to work with. They all show so much care and dedication with the clients we serve. I have seen so many instances of client's lives changed for the better because of the work of these wonderful people."
"I worked at caravel from June of 2021 to June of 2022. In my year working at caravel I learned so much about patience, hard work, dedication and teamwork. Some days were challenging but those days were the most important! The support from the other BTs and Seniors is absolutely phenomenal. I truly felt like I gained a little family while working here! Here we are, almost a year later and I keep saying “I wanna go back” and “I miss working there.” You grow bonds and unique relationships with the clients and their families, coworkers and peers. Caravel was all around a great work environment with caring, supportive people. The pay isn’t bad, and the hours aren’t bad either. Your day tends to go by pretty fast in between your sessions! Each session is different, as each client is different! In my 26 years existing earth side I can confidently say caravel has been in my top 3 favorite jobs I had! I would recommend caravel to anybody when it comes to employment or even if you’re considering having your child attend!"
"If I could leave 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. Caravel was nothing but issues. Between not properly taking care of my child to communication issues. It started with coming home in a full diaper, to not have been fed all day while he was there. Canceling to many times in a week because of “staff shortages”. Most of their staff especially BT’s are there for a pay check and not the actual well being of your child. Our services ended with our son coming home telling us a certain person hurt him. After reporting it and pulling him immediately it took weeks and for myself to call to check up on the investigation to find out that they just “further trained the staff”. They hire any body they possibly can get through the door. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. You kids will not get treated fairly, your voice will not be heard and I am surprised this business is still even allowed."
"If I could give zero stars, I certainly would. From the start of my employment, my experience has been nothing short of chaos and lies/dishonesty. I was guaranteed 40 hours a week. I worked my 40 but rarely got paid for 40. My last month there, I worked 103 hours but was only paid for 71. I am unable to locate a number of anyone to contact. You only get paid the minutes it takes to drive to a clients house not the mileage. They closed the clinic for 5 days (3 working days) because an employee tested positive for covid. All employees have to be vaccinated and masked. I lost pay for 3 days due to their decision. I was not offered an opportunity to do “admin” work but others were. (This just happened in august of 22) I wasn’t paid the holiday nor did they pay the handful of PTO hours I had. The “office” is small and had too many kids and staff with little control. It was loud, messy, and chaotic. I’m not sure how any child was able to concentrate in that environment. During circle time, they’d do letter sounds, many of which they did incorrectly. After the covid exposure, they decided to keep kids separated. One kid often had to eat lunch in room by himself, as the other child wasn’t there everyday. It also meant the kids were u able to play with each other, eat together, and do their “art” activities together. Not much for social interaction with peers. I believe, their practices are unethical at best. They are against actual schooling and are unable to provide academics. They are pushy with parents to get them to keep their child at the center instead of school. One child, should have been an older kindergartner, he was very capable of learning academically. The clinic advised/pushed the family to keep him in center another year, putting this child further behind. This child was also cancelled on numerous times for not having staff. They instill fear into the parents, telling them they’ll never be able to return to the center because once they’re discharged, they’ll lose the opportunity for the therapy. I heard them tell parents that there’s nothing the school can provide for their child that the center can’t do, including speech therapy. They fail to tell them that no one there is able to teach any academics, let alone speech therapy. Another child, cried for two hours because he didn’t finish his “demand”. The delivery of the demand was poor. The child was unsure what his job was. In the two hours, the delivery of the demand was never repeated nor did they attempt to rephrase it to them. They stacked up game boxes and pretended to have fun and play the game. When he’d ask if he could play they would respond with “not until you finish your job”. The senior even went as far as teasing him with his lunch. “Are you hungry? I’m sure you are. No lunch until you finish your job”. While he cried saying “I’m hungry.” And “is this how I do it?” As the senior ripped off the color match and said “I don’t know, is it?” Again, there was no explanation given to him after the initial demand. At an in home therapy session, the living conditions of the child’s home was disgusting. His tan bed sheets stained and covered in dirt. Hanging wires, the electric heat vent (in his room) hanging off the wall, the railing for the stairs to his basement bedroom was completely broken off, and the smell of mold was nauseating. His hygiene was poor. I reported this to my senior, after she talked to the bcba, I was told that the cleanliness of his home was not reportable and was determined “not that bad”. I strongly suggest not sending your child to this place. I don’t recommend working there. There’s a reason 5 people quit there within my first month of employment. I didn’t last 2 months."
