Reviews
"This place is very beautiful and it's worth the visit at least once. Tons of free parking and park rangers do patrol the outer street areas, not so much the beach itself. Not very congested here as there's not too many people that come here. Which is nice, so you don't have to worry about broken glass bottles or garbage all over the beach. You can literally walk barefooted along the beach without worrying about cutting your feet on something left behind by people. The beach is very pebbly instead of small grains of sand. Lots of crabs and muscle shells along the beach The seagulls must be eating very good, LOL."
"Rockhound Excursion! This is a perfect gem of a beach with a winding walk through a narrow, fern-lined path (think Jurassic Park) that open up on a beautiful crescent beach. The Russian Gulch meets the ocean here, so at times you must wade through the water to reach the waves, at other times it's dried up. Be prepared for a mini adventure! #JoJoRocksOn #FranklinRockhound"
"We enjoyed our time here immensely! Yes, it was a little trek to get there but well worth the effort. It’s a meandering trail with low hanging branches and thick tree roots but for the most part it was well maintained. The creek was flowing nicely on this beautiful February 4, 2021 early afternoon. We were happy surprised that there wasn’t much wind near the giant stone edifice where the seasonal creek met the sea. It’s a fairly small beach nestled in the stone."
"Ample parking and a decent port a potty. The trail to the beach is sketchy; I saw a snake & came across ticks. Can be busy during peak hours or the weekend. Highlights: beautiful rocks, small beach (great visibility when watching your kids or pets), a small art cave. Be aware there is unkind people who leave poop around. But for a quick day trip this could be nice to enjoy."
"Beautiful beach with a tropical forest vibe while walking through the trails. Be cautious when walking through trails as some plants may cause stinging/burning sensation."
