Hotel June Malibu

"Enjoyed a wonderful weekend with friends at the Hotel June Malibu. The rooms were sparse but stylish with nice toiletries and a stocked snack fridge. Beds were very comfy and room was clean. The staff were so kind - helping us get extra towels, turn the pool on etc. We are breakfast people and the tea/coffee plus gourmet pastries/juices in the morning were perfect for starting the day. The hotel is right on the PCH but the noise was not bad at all. And the overall vintage vibe of the building and lobby was fun and unique. Garden was perfect for enjoying a bit of outside time. We all agreed we would stay there again if in Malibu!"

"Give this motel a swerve, especially at these prices. End of my honeymoon ruined. The website is not representative of the product and if you thought it was expensive at booking, just wait until you get all the additional charges! We got partial refund as we booked through a third-party site, but booking direct you're unlikely to receive the same. Stayed at upmarket LA hotels for less money and way better experience."

"The staff are informed and friendly. Bare bones accommodations. I can see why this place is promoted as a place for meditation workshops. The transformation from an older cinder block motel to trendy chic is great. Unfortunately,the lighting (in the rooms) is not task lighting. The light in the bathroom wasn't very bright. I kept going to the daylight window and the mirror on the bathroom door to see ( that was a plus!). Breakfast was not included, but it was nice to find croissants and baguettes as well as freshly made peach jam. Unfortunately, the second day, the baguettes were from the day before; a bit chewy. Patio area for breakfast and relaxing was lovely. We didn't use the pool, though it was lovely and private. It is conveniently located to everything in Malibu. Just expected more for the hefty price tag."

"Our experience here was straight up disappointing. The hotel itself is very basic, rooms are clean and spacious but the sound of the main road outside is disturbing and specially when sirens fly past. Our biggest issue was all their HIDDEN FEES… what started out as a $500~ room rate turned out to be well over $700. They charge you $25 to self park your car.. and then claim that’s to pay for overnight security. You also get slapped with a $30 guest amenity fee for the couple of free boxed waters you receive at check in as well as to pay for the pool heating… seems like you don’t get much for the room rate! Won’t recommend to anyone… surf rider is in similar price point at a way better location with nicer rooms and you’re own private ocean view rooftop bar."
