"Oof, the reviews here need to lighten up a bit! I have been coming through here for several years traveling out of Madison, and have had nothing but positive experiences. Their cashiers have mostly been friendly, and the food and beverages have always been tasty, filling, and quick. You cannot expect top-notch gourmet service and cuisine from a stop-n-go airport joint, folks.. Prices also feel fair given the airport setting. Disclaimer: I've not experienced the woman who allegedly bashes on customers that don't tip for basic services.. that sounds quite ridiculous. Shame on her.. perhaps find another job. Largely this has been a wonderful extension of the larger Metcalfe's in Madison!"

"The older lady who worked here on 10/09 maybe blot family with good customer service as well as hygiene practices handling food. I was excited to try this Metcalves location as it is relatively new to the airport. I purchased a breakfast sandwich, all the worker did is placed it (pre-made not made from scratch here) on the grill barely moved away from register. Another person purchased something with cash and left a tip in jar. The worker emphasizes to the customer “thanks for tipping - you wouldn’t believe how many people don’t”. While I don’t care or take this personally, however, this is a personal decision to tip or not. There is no need to comment on what other people choose to do. The company must be struggling to find workers. I guess we should be grateful at least have this one. The breakfast sandwich with an egg and bacon was good but nothing to write home about. I’m still grateful they offer breakfast here though."

"I'm another victim of the "thanks for the tip" lady. Turns out, she's the supervisor. I'm a flight crew member who came in to purchase pre-packaged snacks to share with my coworkers. If someone made a sandwich or coffee, I would have absolutely tipped. All she did was ring me up and begrudgingly provide me forks when asked. She didn't move from the register area, if any were located on the other side of the counter, I would have happily gotten them myself. She loudly barked, "thanks for the tip" while she glared at me in front of passengers. In the airport. While I'm on duty. It was humiliating and unacceptable. She did not make my food. She did not bring me food. All she did was ring me up. I will make sure to share this with my coworkers and ensure they don't make the mistake of spending money here."

"Poor service and overpriced food. The bagel sandwich was barely edible. When I complained, the cook practically threw my food at me and the lady at the register said sorry we are short staffed have some patience. We are at an airport. Time is of the essence. I am pretty sure they are not following safe food handling procedures as well."
