"Went there today for probably the second time. I am a senior citizen and it took me awhile to find the items I wanted. Now the items I was buying were items that my insurance pays for. So I went to the checkout and I told the girl I wanted to start with one item because I wasn't sure if my insurance card would work there. I've never used it at dollar general. She asked what was my insurance I said my insurance she said they take it. Ok that does not mean my card would work So she rings up the item it said can't process . So I'm like oh ok I guess it's not going to work I'll have to try to figure out why . So she givese a receipt and says it worked it paid for it I told u that u should have put all the items up here And she was very rude from the time i walked up to the checkout. So I was then done she said nothing else to me. I will never ever go there again. The worst experience ever. Guess they just hire anyone nowdays. Pretty sad."

"The assistant manager at your store is ridiculous. I am 57 years old i stopped there after-work to pick up a few things and get my husband cigarettes. I pulled out my drivers license. It was expired. I have one that is not but can't find. So I am now holding up the line. She now has to watch dig through my purse and istill could not finf. I am aggravated and want the manager. I shop here regularly. Now she has to ga in back and thenumber for me to call and complain now line is even longer. She is ridiculous. Don't know if I will go back there. My expired driver's license has dob on it. She is just on a power trip. Not impressed."

"My mom, my 7 year old daughter and I stop here tonight 12/6/23 after dinner. After about 5 minutes of shopping I ask an employee where the bathroom was. She told me it as out of service. Yes I was annoyed so I found my mom back up at the front of the store and told her, "Hey ma, did you know that when the employees have to use the bathroom here they must have to shut the whole store down to go home and use the bathroom?" My mom tells me she's ready to check out, I put my items up and the cashier (aka Employee of the month, looking like he just walked out of Rikers Island, with his face tatts and wanna be hood demeaner) goes to scan the last of my items. I turn around to realize my mom's still behind looking at something by where you enter the line, so I tell her to come on because he's almost done checking me out, she had my wallet, and the rest of the items in our cart were hers. My mom and my daughter came up to the counter next to me now. My total comes to $30.11. I gave him $40.11 and he looks at me, looks at his screen, looks at me then back at his screen looking bewildered and then says, "Well, I f'ed that all up (but the actual F word). While I'm not new to the word or even easily offended I was taken back by the way he spoke in front of customers. So I told him, "10.00 back". I wasn't trying to be smart, I just thought maybe he was confused on the change to which of course I got a "I KNOW! O...K...So now my mom checks out, and a woman gets in line behind us then leaves her cart in line to look at gift cards. Seeing this, my mom decided it was ok to grab 2 lighters which was above the register screen. Since my mom's disabled and can't stand up straight enough to reach, she asks me to hand her two. So I did then went back to reading the other ones while I waited. He mumbled something that I didn't hear and I slowly started for the door. I see my mom getting nervous for some reason. As she's going into her wallet for exact change I walk back to her to see if she needed another nickel and he starts SNAPPING talking about, " You know what, we're just gonna do this cuz I got other people to take care of ( the only lady in line STILL looking at the gift cards not ready to check out yet). I ask him if we were taking up his time and he says, You know what you've had an attitude the whole time just cuz yo a#$ couldn't use the bathroom I ain't losing my job over your a#$ today, then proceeded to throw his arms up saying, "What you wanna do then!?"I looked at him wondering who the heck he was to talk to ANYONE like that and he proceeds to tell me if I don't like it that he'd be there the next day too. I realize having this job was probably part of his parole conditions but had he said this to another man he'd more than likely been hurt. While I just laughed it off because there was ZERO bone in my body intimidated by him, it really is sad that this is the "New customer service". What makes it even worse is that I kind of expect this now from the younger generation but this dude was clearly early 50s. I know he knew better! When we get in the car my mom is shaking and about in tears and told me that she thought he was coming over the counter after me when he asked what the f*"$ I was looking at (which I originally didn't hear). Pretty sure this isn't how he would expect another man to talk or act in front of his kids or mother. It's a shame."
