"Nice market. I love the setup inside they have a lot of stuff to sell. My favorite areas were the liquor and cheese sections plus employees are so nice... My only gripe was trying to find the market at 7 pm because it was down a flight of stairs that were dark. Very poor lighting, there doing some work in the front of the door so I was not sure if I was going to the correct place."
"Produce dept. had no chives, no bib lettuce, and the parsley was completely wilted -- all items needed for a dinner that evening. The staff said the items "should" arrive later that afternoon -- not helpful. Your customers are willing to pay Gelson's premium prices. Please have the items in stock and have them be high quality."
"Surprisingly good prices and deals. Some things are cheaper than other stores, but not everything, and their selection is not as big. However it's nice. Parking is not easy the first time you go unless you read this ahead... pull into parking garage and DRIVE DOWN one level. Otherwise you'll be left perplexed as to where it even is and how to get there. I do like it here tho because it's rarely crowded and it's nicer inside than pavilions or ralphs. At least check it out. They have things I can't find elsewhere, like gluten free puff pastry sheets."
"Located in the lower level of the shopping center, Gelson's has extremely overpriced produce. The prices are double of Costco and significantly higher than Trader Joe's. While the produce can seem more unblemished than other grocery stores, that's actually a con and not a pro. Perfect looking produce is typically less nutritious than their counterparts that have endured more natural hardships"
