About the Business

The Fox Theater, located at 241 South Main Street in Salinas, California, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1921 as the T & D Theatre. Designed by Albert W. Cornelius, the theater was later acquired by the Fox West Coast Theatres Chain in 1930 and underwent a major renovation in 1935 by architect Alexander A. Cantin. The interior was redesigned in the Skouras style by architect Carl G. Moeller in 1949. The theater was purchased by the Martin Family in 1975 and later sold to Anthony Lane-Cotroneo in 2007. Under new ownership, the theater was renovated and reopened in May 2007.

Today, the Fox Theater Salinas hosts a variety of events including banquets, weddings, plays, comedy shows, and conventions. The theater's first floor features three tiers and a stage that can be set up for concerts or banquet-style seating. The balcony level has been updated with modern theater seats, while the entire interior has been repainted and restored to its original Art Deco style. The theater also features dual bars designed to match the original decor.

With the help of David Drew Productions, the Fox Theater Salinas brings in major touring superstars for live entertainment. The theater has played a significant role in revitalizing the nightlife and entertainment scene in the city of Salinas. Visit the Fox Theater Salinas for a memorable and enjoyable experience in a historic and beautifully renovated venue.

"The show was excellent. The seating was the worst. Row P in the Upper Terrace is in a flat section of the theater and has a flat floor so we were trying to look through many rows of heads. The show had a lot of physical comedy so seeing the stage was essential. We ended up getting up from our seats and standing in the back for 2 hours along with about 10-15 other couples who couldn't see the show. For $70 per seat it's asking a lot for little return. Get better seats, or stay at home and read the reviews afterwards. Either way you'll have a better view. That said, the Fox is a beautiful theater. Clean and great atmosphere. The bartenders were friendly and efficient, the staff ran the line very well by checking IDs outside while we waited and reminders to have tickets ready were helpful."

"Went to see Rob Schneider here on Saturday. There was a lot of technical difficulties, but it added to the show. Anthony was a good sport about it. My main issue was that there was 2 drunk girls talking loud behind us for the whole second half of the show. To the point where we couldn't hear alot of what Rob was saying. Employees definitely heard, because I told them, and so did another patron, but the employees didn't do anything.. they seemed scared to say anything. Many people around me were upset and were trying to shut them up as well. In the end the employees or security should have escorted them out. Please train your employees better on this matter. The tons of technical difficulties were fine. But those drunk women ruined the end of the show for me and a bunch of people around us."
