"I’m a dental assistant and came to Jun Park for a filling. Before we began, he told me I would be getting a white composite filling. I agreed and we started. When Dr. Park finished, he told me I was given a glass ionomer filling. Working in the dental field I knew this was not something I was okay with, and I would not have agreed to had he said this before we started. He changed the treatment without notifying me. When I asked for my treatment notes following my visit, they didn’t have any other than the sheet explaining my payment. The problem with glass ionomer is it is not nearly as durable as composite, and will likely need to be replaced after about 5 years (if you’re lucky enough for it to even last that long). Glass ionomer is not meant to be used as a long term restoration on a permanent tooth. It is most often used on primary teeth or as a temporary filling for adult teeth. After speaking with a few other dentists, every one of them was shocked I was given glass ionomer as a solution for the cavity I had. My guess is he used it because it is substantially cheaper to do compared to composite. Now, I have to hope that when i need this replaced in a few years, I will not need a root canal as a result of another dentist removing this one and hitting my nerve since the tooth has already been drilled into and compromised. As a dental assistant and being in the field for a while, I wouldn’t recommend coming to Jun Park as you will be left with subpar work and “fillings” that will not last."

"Honest and efficient dentist who doesn't over diagnose with costly treatments. I've had several denstists in SF that say I needed over 6~7 crowns/implants with root canals 3 years ago. Dr. Park said he can save some of the teeth without root canals and only had to go with 4 crowns. He set up the most efficient treatment plans and I had no issues until now. Also his staff does a great job working with your insurance to plan your treatment while minimizing your out-of-pocket costs. My wife and I had been a patient here for years until now and I would recommend my friends and family to go here."
