"My crown cap (done by other dental) fell off, so I was looking for a dental near my place to get it reattached, while also asked for a full exam and cleaning of my teeth. I found Palo Alto Central Dental really close to my house, so I gave it a try. On my first visit, I was told by Dr. Chen that the tooth next to the crown has a cavity that should be filled before the crown goes back on. So she got the filling done and get my crown reattached. After the local anesthesia is over, I started to feel some sharp pain in the tooth each time I bite on something and then was told it's normal and should go away in two weeks. However, this pain persists until I went it the second time (for full exam and cleaning). Dr. Chen is very gentle and caring for her patient, however, I lost confidence in her after the pain caused to my tooth, so I asked to see another dentist. In my next appointment, I was seen by Dr Sevinc. She looked the the tooth and told me that the filling is way too high, which is what caused my pain. She then proceeded to grind away the extras material in the filling. As she was grinding my tooth, her hand slipped and the grinding tool went straight to underneath of my tongue, caused extreme pain in that sensitive area and significant bleeding. I was in so much pain and shock that I didn't know what to do. Dr. Sevinc continued to help control the bleeding, but the bleeding didn't come under control until 10-15 mins later. Due to the injury to an extremely sensitive area in the mouth (under the tongue near the saliva gland), I was under pretty intense pain for the next two weeks and had to take strong doses of ibuprofen. Before I left, while Dr Sevinc did apologize, she kept repeating that incident like this is pretty common so I didn't have to worry about it. I can't understand how this can be a common incident, I have never had such thing happened to me or anyone that I know before. The fact that she's trying to brush this as "common incident" really concerns me. I visited this place twice and it caused me significant pain both time. Never coming back again despite how close it is to my house."

"Too perfect to be true. But yeah it's true! Been seeing Dr. Avina for more than a year. Before that I barely go to any dentist so my teeth need a lot of work. I've done deep cleaning, crown, normal cleaning here. And I've been referred by Dr. Avina to an oral surgeon Dr. Kim (I also left a review for him!) to take out my wisdom teeth. He's also really skilled and nice! Everything well done! The doctor always tries her best to help me. She always does some small talk with patients before treatment and you can feel that she remembers her patients so clearly. So friendly so nice. I have very short teeth which makes the installation of the crown kind of hard but it was perfectly done by Dr. Avina. The front desk Golda is sooooooooo nice too! And the office always have some beautiful plants around! Not sure who's been taking care of the plants but it's really impressive. Sometimes I feel if I relocate to another city due to work, it might take a long time for me to find a dental team as good as Dr. Avina's team."
