Baymont by Wyndham Memphis East

"This is a sham business. I booked my hotel through Priceline when I was traveling to memphis. When I arrived at the address this whole building was torn down and it gave me the heebie jeebies like from ghost movies. The number provided for this hotel would ring but no one would respond even after calling a few times. I would not book or go here again and next thing you know you come on news paper article as victim of a crime."

"My reservation was made on 3/2023 and paid in full. We drove 8 hours and showed up on 5/12 to check into our hotel and it was blocked off and had no roof. The hotel was abandoned, with no roof, and just the bones of the hotel standing up. My dad and I called Wyndham immediately, and we were told that we would need to file a claim and wait 1 week for an update on my claim. To book another reservation, we had to pay for it out of pocket and Baymont would not refund us for any additional fees. Mind you, we ended up paying around $600 to $700 for a weekend stay that was supposed to cost us only $264. We've been coming down to Memphis for Mother's Day for over 10yrs and I guess it's time for us to look elsewhere this was so disheartening. It's sad to see we have no rights when it comes to such a big inconvenience. I bet Baymont would change their tune if a class action lawsuit was filed against them. To deal with such trauma and such an overwhelming experience and your miles and miles away from home and family."

"I guess where do I start (take a look at the photos, taken 5/24/23 at 8:30 PM). My reservation was made on 4/23/2023 and paid in full. I show up on 5/24 to check into the hotel and it was abandoned, no roof, and basically just the bones of the hotel standing up. I called Wyndham at 8:00 PM and they said I have to wait 1 week for an update on my claim, to book another reservation, pay for it out pocket, and wait for Baymont to refund me. Mind you I went from paying in full in April $178 to $700 booking a reservation on the day of. Wyndham reservation basically said it is first they received a complaint about the hotel being in shambles or shut down. I did a quick Google research and saw that 2 other people posted about it, one last week and another person three days ago. I made mention of it, and Wyndham said they will contact the hotel. Mind you the hotel is in shambles so I was unsure HOW they would get in touch with them. No offer of compensation whatsoever for a reservation that was a lemon. Agent then turned around and said all hotels are booked for the time you have selected and I can't help you. I'm in a new city, no where to sleep, and Wyndham customer service did not accommodate me at all. They essentially told me to go find another hotel, which if they can't find a new hotel how would I? Baymont by Wyndham Memphis East still shows up like the hotel is in good standing. Buyer be aware, DO NOT BOOK HOTEL. Stay away."

"Friendly and helpful staff. Check in was easy. We had 2 rooms and stayed on a Saturday night, they were clean and quiet. The security gate was nice too. It's not an upscale place and the area of town is a little run down but we felt safe and were able to get a good night's sleep. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area."
