"I was invited to a work dinner and was excited to hear it was at Si Mon. The venice boardwalk area isn’t known for exceptional food so I was sure what to expect. There is a door person who welcomes you to this little oasis. Behind the door is a cute and chic restaurant that transports you to Panama. Chef José Olmedo Carles Rojas brings flavors from Africa, China and Spain to this unique dining experience. Service is great and food is delicious and not what you would expect. Good for a larger group but intimate for a special date night."

Each dish I savored was a masterpiece, showcasing flavors and craftsmanship that are hard to find elsewhere. Firstly, the Tuna Carpaccio Yuca Tostada was a revelation. It's a must-try, especially with its unique topping of smoked Achiote oil that elevated the dish to new heights. The Pixbae Hummus Yuca Tostada, adorned with avocado, tomato, and a drizzle of honey vinegar, was a harmonious blend of flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The Afro Caribbean Shrimp Dumplings in a coconut bisque, enhanced with charred scallion oil, were divine. A pro-tip: order some rice on the side, mix it into the sauce, and revel in its heavenly taste. For those who appreciate the simpler pleasures, the Fried Chicken Drumsticks are a must. Double fried with herb salt and served with ketchup and a spicy sauce option, these drumsticks were a crispy, flavorful delight. However, the star of the evening was the Krispy Pork Belly & Beans. This dish was a symphony of flavors, especially when wrapped in the provided lettuce leaves with mint and cilantro and dipped in the rich bean sauce. Complementing the meal, the wine list was thoughtfully curated, pairing perfectly with the dishes. The service was impeccable, adding to the overall exceptional dining experience. A side note for the aesthetically inclined: there's a separate bar and seating area at the back with beautifully wallpapered walls - perfect for capturing memorable moments. For convenience, there's paid parking available nearby for just $10, open until 11pm. Si! Mon Restaurant is a gem that's not to be missed by any culinary enthusiast."

"Really pleasantly surprised with Si! Mon! It is located in the old James Beach spot and has semi-outdoor seating available with heaters and an indoor section. They recommended 5-7 dishes for 2 people. We ended up ordering 6 dishes are were really full by the end. The shrimp dumplings were our favorite but we enjoyed everything we ordered. The curry spice sashimi was a second favorite, just the right balance of spice paired with coconut milk. Food came out pretty fast too! We were hungry and had a late dinner so it was perfect timing for us."

"The Si! Mon caught our attention while we were walking by. Neither really hungry nor thirsty, we just wanted to grab a quick drink and call it a day because we had to get up early in the morning. Let me tell you, everything there was amazing. The barkeeper was very friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable about all kinds of things, especially his craft. The cocktails were great, for some, some might taste a little special. The food? We choose the carpaccio, absolutely delicious! The menu might be quite small at the moment but they just opened and we learned that, once everything is finished, the menu will expand. 10/10 would come again. Greetings from Germany"
