"I work with the VA to install vehicle lifts for Veteran's and when they do not have a hitch installed on their vehicle we schedule it to be completed by U-haul. I called and scheduled 3 weeks in advance for a hitch installation for an elderly Veteran. I coordinated with the Veteran and his son to have his vehicle at U-haul to have the hitch installed and upon arriving the Veteran was told they could not accomodate the appointment due to short staff. I understand that things happen, however the staff was not apologetic and told the Veteran he would have to come back the next day. The next day comes and the Veteran and his son go back to Uhaul to have to sit for over 6 hours for their vehicle to be worked on. During this time the Veteran was made to feel that hitch installations are not priority so everyone else came before his vehicle. Customers would show up and the ENTIRE team working on his vehicle would stop to go and assist them. On top of all of this, the manager wants to try and get payment from the Veteran when I had it notated and had made sure it was notated that the credit card on file was to be charged for everything and the Veteran was NOT to be asked for any payement!! The very confused Veteran then has to call me so that I can speak directly to the U-haul staff and they then admit that yes indeed the notes were in there and the credit card was on file! And not one time did the staff offer to make up for anything that was done. I am highly upset at the entire interaction! Our company works with a LOT of U-hauls for hitch installations as well as trailer rentals for ramp installation projects, however with the way our Veteran's have been treated the last couple of appointments I have scheduled, we might look to take our business elsewhere."

"We had a terrible experience with a few very rude employees. We purchased multiple uboxs, filled them, and delivered them ourselves to the store because the store didn't have driver available. The store took one box weeks before the 2nd and 3rd box were scheduled to be delivered. We set up a delivery time for the 2nd and 3rd boxes and even verified the delivery was on schedule with two seperate employees over the phone the day of the delivery. When we got to the uhaul store we were immediately greated with a rude attitude coming from the employee. We were informed that not only did they not have space for us but they had no employees that were legally allowed to drive a forklift. According to the employee, this meant that despite our scheduled and verified delivery instructions they were not able to help us. They informed us that we could deliver it to Murrieta and pay an extra delivery fee per box for them to bring them back to Hemet. After calling around to multiple other Uhaul stores around the area we found that the employees attitude was uncalled for as well as the information they gave us was simply wrong. After a few people from Corporate heard about it they were shocked and we were immediately able to deliver the boxes. Shockingly, they happened to have space and a driver immediately available. Until they get some new employees or if you are able to, then go to the Murrieta store or pretty much any other Uhaul."

"These guys are amazing! We were traveling and noticed our brake lamps were out. We had a hitch installed at U-haul in San Diego, turns out they did a horrible wiring job. Long story short the original wires installed were dragging and were exposed. We found these guys on the road, pulled in, explained the situation, they took us on our word, didn't not even confirm we were Uhaul customers. The replaced the wiring and burned out brake lamps for no charge! Amazing. We had a wonderful experience, highly recommend."

"Seems they have their own rules for renting a truck and you're expected to know them without being told! Because I forgot my phone even though I'd made the reservation in person the day before from the same rather snotty little blonde girl, she refused to allow the rental unless I had my phone in hand and another number besides. At that point I was stranded 5 miles from home because my neighbor had dropped me off. I couldn't call anyone and she didn't even want to allow me to use the phone to call a cab which cost me $25 to get home. This whole thing also cost me 3 hours of work time for the crew I was paying to help move. When I went back for the truck, I got even more attitude from her and then got a very bad driving truck to boot. Bad ride and brakes weren't very good. NOT a good experience at all! I'll never use that store for anything again. Stay away from there and use one of the others in town instead."
