"Just moved into the neighborhood, on the other side of the safeway and was excited to be walking distance to a grocery store for once. However, once I got there I found the prices to be extremely high compared to my old safeway in Albany. Virgin olive oil close to $15 for a small bottle, Safeway brand spices almost $6 - in fact all of the safeway brand items were $2-$3 more than what i'd seen at the Albany location a week ago, so it isn't just the national inflation. Way fewer items on sell. My order of about $120, which was: a steak ($9 - probably the cheapest item in my basket), mushrooms, dishsoap, dish scrubbers, one container of safeway brand garlic powder, one tube of garlic paste, a synthetic loofah, 1.5 liter coke zero, one bag of salad, one bottle of motoko miso salad dressing, one bottle of safeway brand spray on olive oil, a stick of butter, and one bottle of safeway brand thousand island. The total discount was only $11 once all was said. There weren't a lot of options, and the entire aisle of self care products, shampoos, soaps, etc, was locked up with no employees in sight to help open it up. That being said, the price of Aussie 3 minute miracle was DOUBLE what I purchased it under in Albany two weeks ago, so, maybe i'll just make a trip there whenever I need to stock up on that... The one redeeming factor was the gentleman who worked at the meat counter. He was incredibly nice, patient, and responsive to questions."

"The store is stocked with most things but minimal variants. Mostly "the essentials" for what you need. And the price is about 15% more than near by organic stores. Furthermore the lines are crammed against the freezer isles with no more than 1-2 lines ever open so prepare for 10 min waits. The pharmacy has a public floor space for private consultation and shots with a 3/4 fabric screen. If you want Safeway still go to Lakeshore for a far better experience"

"went to pick up turkey dinner in the box ordered online .. 2 Asian females were rude as heck .. I provided my order number and name and they still couldn't figure it out with their printouts they had in front of them .. treat it like some sort of criminal with the Spanish Inquisition .. speaking in Chinese-Little did they know that I was quad lingal and understood what they were speaking amongst themselves .. rude and incompetent is not the way I recall of servicing for decades .. Safeway needs to send them to retraining or terminate them all together .. horrible experience at this location .. .. The turkey was actually pretty good mine is the service ..."

"I was heading to the pharmacy here, it was well staffed and efficient. The grocery aisles seemed well stocked. I was in a rush so I didn't shop. There is fairly extreme security in place, limited access to get in or out. Sadly this is necessary in this era of organized theft. Many aisles had locked cabinets for mundane items, but if this keeps the store open I am in full support of it."

"Zero stars. Inept, rude employees, lines with 12-15 people on daily basis, chronically understaffed and guards chatting with customers or on their phones. So much stealing with easy access—their pathetic attempts at staving off thievery is a joke. It’s unsafe to shop there especially perilous to park in their lot."
